If I get COVID-19, I'm mostly likely dead, so yes all those fuckheads who can't be bothered to wear a fucking mask in order to save the lives of million people are causing of all us who are old or immuniocomprised to have to continue to wear protection.

So what, exactly, is your motivation to want cause more people to die from COVID-19? Are you just sadistic? Does your Pfiser stock go up a half point every time a million more people die? Why do you want to kill more people?

Don't answer right now. Think about it. Talk it over with your priest or your rabbi or your therapist or your accountant first.

Then come back explain why it is so important to you to cause more people to die.

A properly worn respirator is the most effective way to prevent infection and spread of COVID-19 disease.

The most effective respirator at a reasonable price is an elastomeric respirator with detachable filters. The best filter is N100 or P100. These filters are at least 99.97% efficient at filtering out the tiny particles that carry the virus.

Respirators are effective against all variants of the virus. They are also effective against other respiratory viruses and pollen.

The respirator should be NIOSH-approved.

Make sure you do a seal check each time you wear the respirator so that no air leaks around the mask.

Make sure the filter material doesn’t get wet because it won't work as well when it is wet.

Don't ever remove the respirator when you are around other people or are where other people have been recently. Don't even remove it to eat. Find a safe place to eat away from other people who might be infected.

Well, the bottom line is that they kept people safe. The numbers show that overwhelmingly, without a doubt. Not even close.

Imagine if there was another Uvalde shooting today in your town. How would the media react? How would people react?

Now image if there were Uvalde shootings in 13 cities throughout the US, all in the same day. How would the media react? Would our government try to do something about that?

Now image if there were 13 Uvalde shootings again tomorrow, and the next day, and the next and the next. Would you expect our government to do something to protect us? Would expect the media to report it?, or to provide useful guidance on how to stay safe?

Well that's exactly what is happening right now, today, 13 Uvalde shootings. That's how many people are dying everyday from COVID-19. Today, tomorrow, and the next day, and the next...

Yet the media is silent. Our government is silent.

Please protect yourself. Wear a properly fitting respirator, like a N-95 mask, or a N-100 elastomeric respirator.

Remember that the more people around you who are not wearing a respirator, the more risk there is to you, so wear your respirator even if you are the only one doing so.

You should be thankful that you live in China during the pandemic.* At least your government cares about the health and lives of its people.

Here in the US, we've had 1,077,880 deaths from COVID-19. That's more than a million dead who didn't have to die. Our public officials actually did everything they could to PROMOTE the spread of the virus, rather than fighting it. They wanted more people to become sick and die.

In China you've had 15,780 deaths total. A tiny fraction of the death rate of the US. Your government cares about the health of its people and you should be thankful for that.

* - (but not necessarily thankful for other problems not associated with the pandemic)

discussion of food...

I couldn't wait. I made some Thanksgiving dressing this morning using a traditional American recipe:

...pita bread, tempeh, shitake mushrooms, and broccoli.

(not really a recipe, it's just what I had in the house)

>"but I would prefer to live in that situation over one where we still have rights but live under a dictator."

That statement is oxymoronic, because one who lives under a dictator does not retain their rights.

I did not vote in the poll because it was a rhetorical poll. I don't know how many of the people in this thread are ignorant about the meaning of the word rhetorical, but of the remaining 5 people in this thread (besides myself), 7 of them voted.

Sounds like this little election was rhetorically stolen. 😂

@lukedegruchy

you posted this in the local public timeline by mistake.

@DrFunkySpoon

ffmpeg could probably do that, the screen and the webcam at the same time.

Or just use a screen recorder for the slides and shoot the speaker with a separate cam, then put it together the way you want it in post.

@freemo

>"Updated my resume..."

Oh, oh. Was it the profile pic gag?

This is what androids think about (according to the screen-writers for TNG)

But unlike today's traitors, those rebel leaders ended up in prison or facing a firing squad.

Click their name, then click 'follow' on their profile page.

Yeah, the problem is keeping them from interacting with other particles. I was aware of China's Mozi satellite which is testing quantum key distribution and got a distance of 1200km, which works out to about 4ms for those photons. And quantum computers use temperatures close to 0K to try to prevent stuff from happening to them. But there's not much out there as to exactly how long they've been able to maintain it.

Do you know exactly where that 5 second number comes from?

I've never heard ESD before. Since measurement involves a statistical assessment, is ESD the case when an individual particle pair just happens to be on the low side of the probability distribution?

@samyalkenawi

Hint: Nobody is going to go look at your videos unless you provide a description about what they are, here in your toot.

I've been trying to research an answer for this question for some time...

Does anyone out there in Masdo-Land know what the maximum time that physicists have been able to maintain an entangled pair of particles before decoherence?
