I went to an acoustic jam session last night and it did a lot of good to my mental health. It's like sports for the non-sporty kind like me. Going to spend an hour putting together a playlist that the group has music sheets for.

should make everyone realise how important Freedom is worth fighting for.
Look at the Hong Kong Youth, knowing they could be jailed for 10 years for so called "rioting", knowing that the PRC millitary could invade with/without the request of the HK government and slaughter them all.
That is why we shouldn't give up on basic rights just as Privacy, Freedom of Speech etc. because it is what matters the most.

Thank you @neil for being such a really patient facilitator for the web dev workshop today. Shame my plan to carry less weight by using an Android device didn't work, but my experience today is going into my hippocampus for sure.

What went wrong:

- I had a tested Debian installed via UserLAnd, an app that creates an instance of Linux distro within Android devices. I said tested as in I logged into Debian on it before coming to the workshop. It worked then. When I got to the workshop, it decided to reject my password since. No idea why.

- I just need to ssh into my AWS instance so I grabbed a terminal app as an alternative. Spent an hour wrestling with storage permission just so I can use the ssh key file provided by Amazon.

- Finally gave up when Amazon didn't like my browsers enough to even give me the key file download, complaining that Javascript isn't enabled.

So yeah, lots of lessons learned. If I can't get linux working on my tablet this week, I'll just have to haul my gaming laptop for the next meetup.

The truth is the statistics aren't usually wrong. But more often than not people draw the exact opposite conclusion than they should from statistics because they aren't trained int he fallacies. We see this in almost every area of politics and it the central reason that democracy based politics fail, because people are really shitty at creating actionable solutions from data, even when that data seems clear.

TMW I have language filter turned on for my Mastodon preference, but forgot to tick English.

For two days I've been wondering why my timelines are not showing everybody.

@rw Hi there. I spent my last 15 years in Sydney before beginning my UK working holiday this year. I was a UTS student though and more of an Inner West person rather than North Sydney. I look forward to more toots from you.

@mngrif I'll see what I can do! Gonna start with core stability stuff - that seems to be my biggest problem because I have knee pain which physio pointed out it's due to the burden of my body getting shifted down pass my core.

i will legit record myself singing Nickleback if this toot gets 100 boosts

Holy shit, never considered that, but this is likely accurate.

@mngrif I can't gym, but I need yoga and have been procrastinating. A mixture of circumstance (traveling, living in small space) and motivation problem.

@mngrif It's fun to get to use something different for blogging! The last time I used dokuwiki was back in uni almost a decade ago as my note keeper. Very happy to see that it's still going strong after all these years.
