For a few years now, we've used the BCP for morning (for the readings this is audio on the drive to school with the kids) and evening prayer (a great bedtime routine) and I'm working to personally add the palms throughout the day.

Structure is helpful and it seems a way to live out the communion of the saints.

Christianity is not a western faith nor a new pop contemporary faith.

In some way, we join alongside of others throughout time and space with the BCP.

It gets all timey wimey of you think about it?

@Big_Diggity I once hosted a men's book club going through 25 Books Every Christian Should Read. With pipes and cigars optional. Called it "Book:Burning"

General pipe/cigar nights without the book discussion we call Holy Smokes.

@realcaseyrollins I went to reply to a post of yours Yates. Opened the thread to reply and....left. Multiple replies from someone that were incomprehensible. There were words.... It looked like someone put real effort into it. But it was unreadable. Bizarre.

By the time I got done with the encyclopedia entry I had a hard time tracking back where I was in the story and what the tone was of the plot at that point.

Terraforming Mars took a couple of plays to really get it,and we enjoy it. We got one of the Dune tabletop games and setup took all the time we had to play that day. we need to spend time watching some videos I think.

I really got stuck in Melville. I tried, with many hours, put that down a long time ago. Maybe I'll finish it one day

I thoroughly enjoyed The Brothers Karamazov, though that took me a few tries. I had the hardest time keeping track of all the characters going by different names. What solved this for me was reading Crime And Punishment on a whim. It's got a smaller cast of characters and then I was able tu track with Dostoyevski much better and I started over with The Brothers K and finished it.

Games with Littles.... That's difficult. My youngest is 3, but most of my older kids will play games now. The trouble is picking a game that they'll ALL agree to play. Our newest additions are Calico and Terraforming Mars.

I rarely see offensive content, even on the federated timeline. And I think I've never asked #qoto admins for anyone to be blocked or banned. Isn't censorship one of the major concerns (historically with the right, now with the left) on face and twit and others?

I've realized I don't see a bunch of offensive stuff here because

1. I choose to not be offended whenever possible.

2. I want to interact and not just to win some internet argument. Do people still try to win? I used get sucked in and rarely do these days.

3. I have readily blocked or muted individuals and entire servers (primarily for trolls and servers set up for... "adult Content")

My follows list spans across politics, religion, etc. I have strong convictions, beliefs, and rationale. And these aren't at risk from being exposed to yours that are different. In fact my ideas are clarified, adjusted, refined, and solidified by exposure and interaction with those who differ from me.

One kiddo's final soccer game canceled last week for snow,v rescheduled for today. Today is below freezing. Will we play? Kiddo asked to get on the treadmill to warn up beforehand.
