@freemo It worked. Thank you.
@freemo Hi, I tired to access my account page by pressing the account name as suggested but it still does not work. I wonder if there is any other way to access the page? On a side note that is much appreciated qoto is working much faster than previously; however, it is still not putting toots in chronological order onto my home timeline. Is there any setting I can change that will improve this?
Thank you for your kind help.

🔴 The illusion of information adequacy
"...this study provides convergent evidence that people presume that they possess adequate information—even when they lack half the relevant information or be missing an important point of view. Furthermore, they assume a moderately high level of competence to make a fair, careful evaluation of the information in reaching their decisions. In turn, their specific cross-section of information strongly influences their recommendations."

🔴 🎥 Nazi SS Veterans Interviewed in Cold War West Germany (1965)
"Protesters were marching ahead of a meeting of veterans of the Waffen-SS, the combat arm of the Nazi Party's paramilitary Schutzstaffel (SS) organisation. 🔴 🇨🇳 🇺🇸 🎥 China Is Outspending the U.S. to Achieve the ‘Holy Grail’ of Clean Energy

🔴 Earth’s ‘vital signs’ show humanity’s future in balance, say climate experts
“Climate change is a glaring symptom of a deeper systemic issue: ecological overshoot, [which] is an inherently unstable state that cannot persist indefinitely. As the risk of Earth’s climate system switching to a catastrophic state rises, more and more scientists have begun to research the possibility of societal collapse. Even in the absence of global collapse, climate change could cause many millions of additional deaths by 2050. We need bold, transformative change.”

🔴 When It Comes to Emergency Care, ChatGPT Overprescribes
"Williams said the AI’s tendency to overprescribe could be because the models are trained on the internet, where legitimate medical advice sites aren’t designed to answer emergency medical questions but rather to send readers to a doctor who can."

@freemo Thank you for the update.

#DataCenter #emissions probably 662% higher than #bigtech claims. Can it keep up the ruse?
According to a Guardian analysis, from 2020 to 2022 the real emissions from the “in-house” or company-owned data centers of #Google, #Microsoft, #Meta and #Apple may be 7.62 times higher than official tally! #Amazon is the largest emitter of the big five tech companies by a mile – the emissions of the second-largest emitter, Apple, were less than half of Amazon’s in 2022.

It is great to have #QOTO back. Since the upgrade my account profile page shows an error message that can be seen in the image below. Secondly the home timeline is picking toots up from random times. I could be reading a toot from 29 seconds ago and next a toot from 2 days ago. Finally the federated timeline is not automatically refreshing. I wonder if anyone else is having similar issues?

Not a bot, just a rather corpulent male fifty years of age; a very, very slow ignoramus who reads occasionally.
Toots are #humanities, #science, #nonfiction, #book, #map, #chart and #graph related. Some toots containing #videos may also find their way into the timeline.
Toots or follows or boosts or mentions ≠ endorsements of any particular notion or notions.
Expect numerous typing errors and copious amounts of nonsensical commentary from my personal formulations.
