One thing that really stood out to me about this current #TwitterMigration is that the people who are migrating are such wonderful and loving people who are just looking for a better digital home

I mean, in the past we've had more migrations but not always very plessant so to say😇
But this time I am so happy to see we already have much in common 
This makes our lives as admins a lot easier, trust me!

@mycroft@paws.town I’m new here and this is actually a very good #FediTip. There are a lot of features like hashtags that were not encouraged on Twitter. The content warning is a new one and I need to figure out how to use it.
Also, not much fun leaving a platform to then keep lending it your attention. Maybe absence will make my heart grow fonder but we will see.

@transponderings Chief Twit pushed me hear but the other reason is I am finding the content great. I also like the ability to write longer posts. Not everything needs to be a sound byte anymore and I tend to ramble anyway.

@PawelK I am pretty glad I came here. A lot of people I followed to the political left spent most of their time responding to right wing personalities’ posts on Twitter so I couldn’t even really prune my timeline effectively anymore.
@PawelK I guess we may differ in opinion. I believe mostly that people should have a right to say, but I also will judge them accordingly. I also generally feel like Parler users and those flocking back to twitter tend to believe bigoted speech is free speech. I’m just not interested in that type of community. This is my opinion though and it was great hearing yours. I could get pretty crabby on Twitter and I am actively trying not to do that here :)
You are right though it seems Mastodon is what you make of it so in the end there is probably an instance for anything.
@kristinmbranson That is really interesting. It seems geographically there is a decent amount of diversity even though the gender is stuck. It looks like in overall software engineering the representation is about the same. From a quick search it looks like women make up about 17 to 20% of the field.
