@realcaseyrollins Yeah, I wouldn't be wearing it either. But I liked the point it made - very subtly.

Using an enhanced Clipboard Feature, Windows 10

Very nice article -- and a super handy feature to have.

Earlier today I wrote a sequence of posts (visit to Lisbon Museum series) in a plain Text editor (more space to write, font size control, NO distractions on sight).

When I had completed it, it was time to post here - in individual segments to keep size in control.

I did it via traditional Clipboard commands, hurrying and worried that someone would comment or reply before I had the full set posted.

Went looking for an enhanced Clipboard utility, they have been around. But -- discovered that Windows 10 now has that, Built-In, no added software needed.

The article in PC Mag linked explains it well, with illustration. It's simple and convenient to use.

Thank you PC Mag, Microsoft. 👍

@Craigvulcan Geez......

NSFW content in such a simple hashtag? Who would have thought.

Argh.

@Sphinx
Well, you got more out of it than me, for sure. 😛

Pretty Kanji, but complete mystery to most of us.

The way the seat is rotated, a bit sideways, would lead the person to sit sideways too, or be uncomfortable. But there's no space at the front/left side, so maybe it's to sit sideways, facing back.

Which is an odd position, but. Who knows, maybe it's a tiny place in Hong Kong or Japan.

@shibaprasad @metapsyche

I find Alzheimers one of the most worrisome prospects of old age. Have seen people in nursing homes, and how they have lost so much of their minds.

Scary, no cure, and just an expensive prospect to give the person care until the inevitable happen.

An early exit, voluntarily, seems preferable. We had a case here in Canada, where a lady in BC did that and left posts documenting her choice and why. Great reading, they made perfect sense to me.

@11112011 Ah, very nice, I saw the buildings and backgrounds with classical architecture.

Neat. 👍

@p @moonshine@freespeechextremist.com The space seems so tight I thought they might want to use it with knees facing the back.

But P might have it, anti-theft as it's so weird.

@shibaprasad Vivaldi is a Good Browser. The team developing it used to be from the Opera project, if I am not mistaken.

Opera was a leading edge, innovative and cool browser for a long time. The one the techies and the cool kids used. 😜

Nowadays, Opera is still around, has switched to using the underlying framework of Chromium project (as others, including Microsoft, have done), runs really well, has a free built in VPN option.

But... is under control of a Chinese entity, and some people do have concerns about possible espionage might happen. Chinese state has a ton of power, and can force companies into cooperating for state security reasons anytime they want.

Vivaldi also has a good free email service (which is NOT Google property), and a free blog option I have just started experimenting with.

The blog is built as a full WordPress site, so it's full featured and takes some learning, just starting on the process myself.

Don't have Vivaldi installed, as I am happy with Waterfox. Do have Opera and use it on ocassion, even the VPN, until now, when I discovered a much nicer and free VPN service.

@anarchiv Sometimes, simple is best.

All text on article above created with a plain text editor. (was full screen at the time, reduced here to keep image size down).

EditPad Lite is freeware and a nice editor. editpadlite.com/

@anarchiv Also -- we gain the chance to edit and add things, links, hash tags (which I completely forgot for this series of posts, sadly).

I posted as quickly as I could, jumping from Editor to browser and pushing Toot with the next post already copied into the Clipboard for pasting.

Was afraid of someone reacting and responding and breaking the flow of the text, happily it did not happen.

Don't mind at all comments after the full text is in, but it's best to keep it flowing without distractions, until complete.

@anarchiv I think that's an excellent idea. Makes the time we spend on creating content more worthwhile - if you preserve and place it somewhere else, one link away, rather than deep into thousands of posts which an active user will accumulate here, easily.

Until we have proper bookmarks in Mastodon, it's tough to keep tabs on things. I am lucky that my home instance here is very stable and has a wonderful Full text Search - which digs my own posts back for reference and to help others when needed.

@anarchiv You are very welcome -- and I feel it's me who should be thankful.

I managed to pry myself of notifications and new posts, etc, jumped into a plain text editor and just worked thru it.

I like the result! And it's a new experience for me, the chunking up in manageable pieces. I am hoping to grab people glancing at any one of them and being curious. 😛 Like it happened to me!

Soon will probably make it into a blog post, it's real content and can get me started on blogging.

Long due, leave the stories written down, let others experience them.

@drabard I am just starting on it, drabard, and there's only a basic, Hello World kind of post there now.

But - I was inspired by some great writing I caught this morning, and participated in.

That lead me to remember some of my own experiences, and I got off the fediverse, into a plain Text editor and wrote what I consider will be a nice blog post sometime soon.

For now, it's here in fedi, mastodon thread. This one: qoto.org/@design_RG/1032616671
