@Sphinx Good morning, and that's an excellent quote. Abby Hoffmann, I believe ?

@achso@mastodon.social
They are certainly a nest of resentment and negativity, in my opinion. I ws quite comforted by seeing the stats on Fediverse.network and them confirming it's mostly contained within their own communities.

But still a negative thing. Well, life goes on.

Our fellow system administrator cut communications with a request that I no longer contact him, and I will honour that of course.

Felt like deleting my account there at mastodon.technology, but looking at the few posts I had, mostly blog annoucements for content I feel it's worthy, deciced to leave it there.

Posted a note in the profile saying I would no longer be participating in their instance, repeated that in a quick Local feed post and logged off. Good bye, M.T.

Those ex-Twitter, heavy past users now in admin positions here in some instances are sure a weird bunch. I will leave them to their one liners, cryptic thingies, and will go on to greener pastures.

@l0r3zz Hello l0r3zz!

welcome to Qoto.

Enjoy the network and all it has to offer. If you are new to using Mastodon, there's a good guide here: lifehacker.com/a-beginner-s-gu

We also have another new users guide, posted here : write.tedomum.net/rgx/suggesti

Casey Rollins made a video to explain the Fediverse, here :

@peterdrake Ah, I understand - you meant a desire for larger fonts in general, or the option to use them if needed. I see, and that is a nice idea.

I just joined another instance yesterday and was very surprised by the many advanced features it has. It's a Pleroma node, which is similar to Mastodon but created by a separate team, and has many enhancements.

One of them being a very granular palette of user controls- amazing. Not only individual colors control for each element, if desired, by a choice of font family, size, and even a specific font, by name. Wow.

@realcaseyrollins@mstdn.social Many, I will elaborate more tomorrow as it's late here now, Casey.

Bed time, good night!

@a1batross

I think he's being cautious since we might have come across some weird places on ocassion. Not yours, but some odd nodes here and there.

Turns out I was missing on a great thing, but it was probably ok - now that I understand mastodon better, it's easier to grasp and compare. And Pleroma is suprisingly refreshing and cool.

@realcaseyrollins@mstdn.social

@realcaseyrollins@mstdn.social Yes, it's true, it does take time to keep in touch in more places.

Enjoy the movie, Casey. Bedtime soon for me. Good night!

[I thought of mentioning -- if you even setup a private node, Pleroma looks like an enjoyable one. People told me there's excellent manuals and you can complete all of it in one weekend]

@greamj Hello, welcome.

We are an instance in the Mastodon network with a STEM - Science, Tech, Engineering, Math theme.

Showing nudes here is not really along the lines we hope to maintain.

You can read more about what rules we have here : qoto.org/about/more/

Thank you!

@realcaseyrollins@mstdn.social Read the posts, Casey, it's amazing the conversations we have going.

Been there for some hours now, it's a fun place. I had seen some strange Pleroma sites in the past, but this is not a weird place. Trust me, come and visit.

Today I discovered and joined a new instance. Amazing how we cross paths and discover things at random points. Serendipity, is a Thing.

This instance is called Expired Mentality, RIP.

Source of the name? I will quote :

" yep, thanks to hysterical Gab dev for this name. youtu.be/TveK9Sfwtvo?t=96 "

LOL.... 😜

op : expired.mentality.rip/notice/9

@nHFvi0rBSRGHPJI8ahIo@skippers-bin.com Hello!

Please do stay. It's a great place, just give it time, read some guides, explore around a bit. So much to see, do and learn.

@SecondJon George Orwell had a vision, and it ain't pretty. We are living it now it seems. [shades of 1984, the novel]

@hj
Most certainly! It's interesting that you have this dual team approach. Interesting, keeping people focused on what they know best. 👍

Thank you PleromaBE development team, I am impressed.

@a1batross @shpuld

@smonky Yes, that is an amazing thing, I do that many times for that very reason. Thanks Smonky!
