@miguel31416 @freemo @arteteco Oooooh.

I think we keep the current policy and select any incoming user as stem interested, or an acting student or professional in the area.

There are many instances for them to chose from, General as well as more focused, and even niche ones.

@freemo Some sniper rifles are bolt-action, you don't need rapid reload -- but a quiet mechanism.

Single shot would be risky, reloading too slow.

This was posted as a pure, non practical suggestion, just a beautiful piece.

If I could get a personal arm, it would be something more practical, like a medium sized Sig Sauer 9mm pistol. Found one in PA during a bike trip and loved it -- would be a nice one to pack on tour. :)

Fit my hands perfectly, the Beretta 9 I had many years ago was just too bulky.

@freemo It's a famous Sniper rifle, and has great reputation, afaik.

I am that kind of guy, the lone wolf, think the stories of sniper actions are very interesting.

@freemo Do you have to ask?

A look is all I need to know it's a real tool for skilled warriors.

One shot, one kill.

52 new users were welcomed into this past week.

And I am quite happy we stopped the adding huge number, which had NO RELATION to this instance's focus and theme.

And in the majority of cases, added ZERO posts, or added content that violated our Terms of Conduct (spammers, ads, escort services, prostitutes, etc) leading to their Deletion from the user base.

Yey for an improvement. Thanks @freemo and @arteteco, steady as she goes.

* A Laptop is the Best & Easy way to use Slowly *

A laptop (or desktop, meaning - a real computer) is absolutely THE BEST WAY to use the Slowly app (for pen pal correspondence) and enjoy it. And since September last year, it became VERY easy to do with Slowly WEB mode.

All it takes is a half decent machine, it runs from a browser tab, doesn't require much memory or processor power. Slowly versions since 5.0 support it.

And now we have a detailed, step-by-step, illustrated manual to getting started!

The Slowly WEB Mode Guide is at : wordsmith.social/friends-near-

@freemo I had one that my son bought as a Developer phone, and was surprised by the fluid and intuitive design of the OS.

Used it for some time, then he asked for it back, as a backup; it must be long gone. It was colour, and a sharp screen.

WebOS still lives on, now Open Sourced, and powerign LG's Smart TVs and other appliances.

The BEST smartphones -- Before the iPhone.

"At the 10-year anniversary of the launch of Apple's original iPhone, we take a walk down memory lane to see the best phones that people could buy right before the iPhone came... and changed the landscape completely.

From the devices with a full QWERTY keyboard to the best Nokias and the devices coming from the fruitful partnership between Sony and Ericsson, these phones seemed in one or other way superior to the iPhone, at least on paper. "

@freemo We can blame Apple for that. It was an easier option for them, less complex than the solutions others adopted at the time.

I absolutely loved my Palm!!

Sliding keyboard like you mentioned. And the UI design and implementation of WebOS --- runs circles about iOS and Android, the only options left. SUCKS.

? Well, you could say that. Police and military forces entering Rio de Janeiro's Favelas - - dominated by heavily armed drug traffic gangs.
