@nipos

I also plan to blog extensively of my reasoning and the current situation with this sad bunch that is in fact acting like the Fascists they are out to condemn.

@freemo @rgx@muensterland.social

@nipos
I am greatly enjoying the service, Niklas, thank you -- and it is a pleasure to see a post I make there be available in all 12 or so accounts in my Pinafore client.

I got tired of people not seeing my content, and took action, as an Author, to get on an open platform.

Sadly here at Qoto that is not the case, and with some instances that are important to me.

@freemo @rgx@muensterland.social

@SecondJon

That was a nice post, and interesting window into your mind. The contrasts between the extremes are quite interesting - from the robot vacuum to the hand pushed reel mower.

I use an electric one, and like not to have the sink of gasoline and oil around me as I do the chores of cutting the lawn.

@globcoco

@zleap
Thank you, Paul.

And to have an experienced person here in the Fediverse could be useful if the company decides to provide a presence here - someone already into the environment would work out best.

@globcoco

@SecondJon

Ah, thank you, that's nice to see other authors are seeing and referencing this. we need to think it over and find a way to cope the best we can.
@globcoco

@globcoco I didn't get much details, but said thank you as a first move. I am happy with the free time I have, my expenses are covered, and I would normally be out travelling right now -- Spring being my favourite time to travel, have been to Europe in the past 3 years at that time. Not this year, but it's turning out ok since the projects I am involved in are satisfying and enjoyable (all of my fediverse, plus pen pal correspondence, plus Writing two blogs, and being staff here, so it's a busy time).

@globcoco Pretty amazing, isn't it -- considering the whole idea of their main project is a tool for writers.

But programmers tend to think that things are obvious -- because they worked on then for so long, they assume they are. Wrongly, in most cases.

I see that everywhere - and I did some programming, taught some too, but I am not consumed into it like people leading a project can be sometimes.

The User manual that Ange wrote was the first one I ever found -- about two weeks after having to learn it without any references or manuals, but I think Docs are important so I jumped into translating hers.

The ideal project team will have people from various backgrounds, with leaders, newer programmers, documentation and user experience specialists.

I have received a DM consultation inquiring if I would like to join a Tech company, recently, based on my work here which they saw. Higher level, executive role even. 😄

**And Here's Another of Those Designer Ideas, by RG...**

A preview only but it's looking nice, and I will be gladly sharing it soon on the Follow on Friday feature posts.

A list of Feline lover and cat posting accounts all over Fediverse, including some I had never seen, courtesy of my good friend @realcaseyrollins -- Thank you!

Discouse Forum is a pretty way to organize information, I will have to think on what's the best way to provide as much within the limits of a Toot in Mastodon -- or better, in my GlitchSocial account.

Preview open to all readers : discourse.qoto.org/t/cat-posti

@globcoco Glad you liked the article -- I felt much better after knowing I wasn't the only one having more difficulty concentrating on reading books, something I have always loved.

But, affected we are!

Pass the word, share the link, it's a good reference.

@realcaseyrollins

Thank you so much for those new accounts you suggested Casey -- I added them and the page is looking really rich.

Something we can show and enjoy -- discourse.qoto.org/t/cat-posti

@ymd

@georgia@dickkickextremist.xyz

I agree, there's many out there that don't really have a vision and understanding of systems, flow, language or resource usage.

Old School people learned when system resources were precious, and mad much better code. An education was required, people didn't learn on YT.

@globcoco

@globcoco Well, you know. Programmers are really good at coding.

Not at writing good user documentation, lol -- that's where people like me could help.

I could prepare a good Blog, maybe in 2 or 3 parts, describing why GlitchSocial is indeed a lovely place to be, much better than MastoDonT .

And it would be a useful one -- as the Write.Freely manual that Ange made and I translated prove; the only documentation at the write.as site has is really short, poor an useless, mostly.

But don't despair -- and if you try it I think soon you will be missing the features in the regular mastodon instances. Like I do, here, and this is a much better one than average. (as it has extras, big too allowance, etc).

@freemo Thank you, that is wonderful!

wil lprepare an announcement and put it out later today. Cheers! 😺

@globcoco

oh, it is not. You can start using it easily, as a plain Mastodon instance, and discover the extras as you go. The instances are nice and have extras if you want to use them.

Some people will ignore anything and just post single line little toots, but there's much more if you want to look for it. Just get a test account somewhere, and play with it. If you like, you can consider it more seriously, as a work platform.

It is very enjoyable, and for us in Writing, the markdown power adds beauty and impact to the posts.

@penny

I am happy to know that, Penny -- and it's my thought too.

Freemo is really worried about losing an active poster and Staff member here, but I have my own interests to look for too.

Muensterland is my new personal instance, and I plan to use it so; it's already working for me. Everyone's experiences are different, but I am a writer and publisher and the stupid fedi blocks are getting in the way of my content.

Unacceptable, so I have thought about and now implementing my own solution.

@rgx@muensterland.social @freemo

@freemo

The Message in the Medium, the image, was the reason for the hash linking.

I am thinking of starting a new and more personal one, as well, which I can use from the various places I operate at.

Just need a memorable and easy to use tag.

@globcoco

@LittleWytch Yes, I think the Powers that Be like to see rioting and looting, to justify a clamp down.

@globcoco @pixelfed

And Pleroma does too. I also loved the Word Play and started using it, the idea came from this image.

@globcoco

Not that one -- But this one : glitch-soc.github.io/docs/

And - why I wanted a better instance, in long form, detailed, read when you have a chance...

write.tedomum.net/rgx/muenster

BTW -- that instance is open to signups. 😄
