It's fun to find pictures like this, and pages on the web showing I am not the only lover of arcane, vintage #retro Technology.
Next computer, no text yet but photos on Jason's blog page.
@mikelga Thanks, Mikelga, that's an amazing photo. shows as a very wide strip image when clicked on.
Did not know where Donostia was located until now. 😃 Thank you for the post!
Thank you, I had a feeling it was more involved, or you would have done it long time ago. Appreciate it! TY!!
@freon That is a bautiful design, indeed. So clean.
@shibaprasad I will work on a post, but not today, there's already another topic I have notes prepared.
There are so many add ons, it's nice to see people explain which they like and why; we might discover some nice ones that way.
A post on that topic wouldn't be too hard to do, if I stick to the ones on the snapshot, describe each and have a link to their Mozilla page. Tempting!! LOL...
The other topic I have in mind is more complicated and I need to reflect on it to build the post
@shibaprasad You can see it in action here --- Clicking on the Reply arrow in any posts, opens a nice and wide Toot editor right under it!
Pretty cool. It also Collapses the usual column at the Left side of the screen as shown in this Real Time Screenshot. 😃
Reduced to 800 pixel for posting, a full size 160 KB jpeg is here: https://i.postimg.cc/Zqmrs3qN/Mastodon-Collapsed-Screenshot-1600x825p.jpg

"Everything is Broken"
"Once upon a time, a friend of mine accidentally took over thousands of computers. He had found a vulnerability in a piece of software and started playing with it. In the process, he figured out how to get total administration access over a network. "

@mngrif Reformat them to 720 KB, covering the sensor hole for HD floppies. Although the drive itself might not even have that sensor, likely.
Orange display, omg. 😃
Desktop-First Mobile Computing
"However the introduction of the PinePhone ( https://www.pine64.org/pinephone/) may change all that.
The PinePhone is an open-source computer in a smartphone form factor. The hardware provides all of the resources necessary to support a workflow like the one described above. More importantly, unlike other smartphones, the device is open enough to accept a standard desktop operating system, so using it I’m the way I use my laptop (connecting it to desktop peripherals and treating it like a desktop computer) is completely feasible."

From The Atlantic:
"Bowers didn’t make his anti-Semitic statements on Twitter or Facebook or even Reddit, but rather on a small social network called Gab. It was founded in 2016 as an alternative to Twitter and other large social platforms, and indeed looks and operates similarly to Twitter, allowing users to follow and reply to one another, and to reshare short status updates.
But while Twitter, Facebook, and other mainstream social networks abide by ever-evolving sets of community standards, Gab allows users to say pretty much anything they want. Andrew Torba, the Silicon Valley Trump supporter who created it, said that he wanted to offer an alternative to mainstream social networks, which he and others feel are biased against conservatives."

@mngrif Heard about those but not done that yet. Should be a lot faster than the original, although getting one of those older drives should be possible. Not the exact model replacement, but the same physical size and not much larger.
Or this change you mentioned, should be interesting.
@realcaseyrollins If you think the content is relevant and want to RT, or repost one of your own, I don't see a problem.
I do re-toots myself too, when I find something in another instance and would like the Qoto users to see it.
Copy the whole post, mark it as RT, and insert the link to the status, if anyone wants to see or reply in original thread.
I think that helps spread content well, and specially when is something very good and that might have appeared months before.
@mngrif There's a page for that model in Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toshiba_T3100
"The T3100e had a 12 MHz 80286 CPU (switchable to 6 MHz, 1 MB RAM and a 20 MB hard drive."
I would guess a 3.5"HD, ide possibly, although the date on the system is pretty early, 1986 launch of the model.
Vintage computing is fun, nice that you might salvage this one. Good luck!
