Multiple studies have proven the impact of #endocrine #disruptors, e.g. #phthalates and #parabens, on #thyroid #homeostasis. It was unknown, however, that these effects depend on whether or not the included persons are fasting.

Growing evidence supports a role of sensorimotor and autonomic #neuropathy in #syndrome_T or #SORSHOT, i.e. reduced quality of life in treated #hypothyroidism. #SPINA_GT and #SPINA_GD predict nerve function and depression.
The hazardous impact of #parabens on #thyroid #homeostasis (HPT axis) affects several elements of the feedback loop.

Again, a study showed a strong influence of endocrine disruptors on #thyroid homeostasis. Exposure to butylparaben significantly reduces #SPINA-GD, whereas ethylparaben slightly increases #SPINA_GT in pregnancy.
About 10% of hypothyroid patients have reduced quality of life despite normal TSH concentration under therapy with levothyroxine (L-T4). A new randomised, double-blind trial demonstrated better QoL under L-T4 + L-T3 compared to L-T4 alone.
