@Pat
Yea the left convinces themselves thry are doing it out of love and kindness sonehow. Thr right generally sees it more as tough love despite it being pure hate.
@timorl @schratze @vance

@timorl

Sure..

In the first panel it is softened compared to the people I might. They didnt simply date blacks because it made them progressive but because they actually felt whites were disgusting, racist people with no sex appeal (the equivelant of the right thinking blacks and minorities are ugly and violent and whatever else)

In the second panel there are countless examples of where liberals will go so far to compensate that blacks and minorities arent just in exactly equal perportions but in fact over represented to the extreme (for example companies that hire only women which I've seen on a few occasions).

@schratze

@timorl

I mean there are more extreme versions of the left too. I still maintain you are just viewing it that way because your on the left and are apologetic for the left more than the right... That said I'm not going to invest the time you did on every point, sorry, I dont have the energy for that. But I did read your comment fully.

@schratze

@timorl

There doesnt appear to be anything moderate about the right position to me.. both sides seem pretty extreme in this comic

@schratze

@timorl

I've also seen the most extreme literal racists on the left say things that are pretty much identical to the left-wing side too.. I've litrally heard people on the left who were white say they would only date minorities, for example.

@schratze

@schratze

Because its correct (albeit somewhat exaggerated to make a point.. The hope would be the people who exist on either of the right or left spectrum might learn something and modify their behavior (though I dont have high hopes for that)

@vance

@bakubased No you'd be paying either way... remove tips cost goes up 20% your still paying them.

@timorl

The right wingers would say the same just that it misrepresents them... funny that :)

@schratze

@schratze

Facts mostly :) The only people I've seen complain about this meme in the past are the people it represents perfectly :)

@lethe

@b6hydra I generally have no problem with someone criticising a religious idea. The issue is when you assume all members of a religion have the same interpritation as you. There is a huge gap between the words you might be able to quote out of a religious book and the views of a follower of a religion.

@skells re #2 keep in mind for a dual rail opamp you'd need x2 9v batteries in series. single rail opamps exist but id suggest you start with dual rail

@skells 1) thats tricky. A cheap multimeter will work for the purposes of a multimeter for a beginer. What youll really want is a cheap handheld oscope because it will really help you learn. Seeing the circuit change in realtime just helps so much with understanding. That said they can be a bit pricey (though cheap kits exist). So might want to skip that till your more committed and hobble along.

see this for a super cheap one: amazon.com/AUKUYEE-Oscilloscop

2) 9v battery works, you can also just use a random wall wart for an old device or something which id recommend over a battery honestly. You probably will wind up making your own "AC" in circuit from the batteries (really time varying DC for most things)

3) just make sure if you do lick wires strip off a nice large contact off the ends, do it right.

Finally getting around to some electronics work, I've a few questions for those in the know...

Planning to start off with some op amps and basic RLC circuits

1) Looking at ~£22 for a soldering iron kit and ~£10 for basic component kit. Are there any pitfalls or good deals I should be aware of?

2) Op amps need an AC supply, loath to buy a ready made one however. Worth building a power supply from scratch?
( @freemo I know you recommended building some LED/RLC stuff first but I can't find the post and since I'll be needing an AC source soon anyway)

3) Any other practical considerations to bear in mind?
