@haimoptysis Oh that is very interesting indeed. What is "contract resolution"... i love hearing some input from someone who knows about this, I was just playing around really.
@haimoptysis Hmmm that is very interesting... obviously i dont know enough to disagree, so i got something wrong somewhere along the way. I do appreciate you clarifying... Either i got a CT and dont remember.. or I got a CT and it looked like an MRI annd I was mistaken.

But as memory serves I have never had a CT in my life, I know what the machine looks like, and I know what an MRI looks like and they were quite explicit about the fact that I was going into an MRI.
Is it possible a CT looked identical to a MRI (fulliy encloised chamber and all that)
I appreciate that you feel this way and I look forward to getting to know you as time goes on no matter where you wind up.

@freemo it seems like I accidentally stumbled into the right instance! Also I'm glad there's choice out there for people who want to have massive predetermined block lists because that's how they roll, and I'm glad this choice exists for me.

@freemo I didn't come from Twitter but what drew me to the platform is one of the things driving migrants nuts. I like the servers have their own personalities. I love academics and intelligent banter so I've fallen in love with qoto immediately. Migrants seem to have an awkward adjustment to the idea of destination oriented posts and timelines. I think it's brilliant. But I still owe the migration credit cause I read about it in Reuters.
We tried tto find a solution that prioritized the safety of our at-risk community (mostly LGBTQ) while still keeping hate speech out of our local instance. It has created one of the most drama free instances on the fediverse with objectively one of the biggest footprints. Out of all servers you can connect with more users from here than most others, so I consider that a success.
@aazad That may be. I wasnt aware the exodus was focused on the scientific community in any way.
I will say i have always noticed I gain followers here far more easily than I ever had on twitter despite posting the same contennt in both places.

@freemo I have been here a week and have already seen more positive engagement here than years on Twitter.
@jazake Yea, I have a decent twitter following, nothing major, in the thousands. Yet that took me 4x the time it took for me to gain nearly 30K followers here. Unless your famous twitter is kinda dead when it comes to engagement
I love how people who have been here less tthan a day, but have been active, already have 30+ followers... really goes to show how much easier it is to connect to people here than it is on twitter.

@oneechanhax QOTO has a matrix server, you are welcome to use it... We have all the features turned on and maxed out a lot of stuff. So its nott a bad server.
