@fabio So your saying a CIO trying to do the job of both CTO and CIO is the issue? Therefore I assume you'd say the inverse is likewise true, that a CTO without a CIO is also spread too thin?

@fabio As someone who just took a company public as CIO and now starting out a new company I founded as CTO (and is well funded with a quickly growing team already) I have to disagree, though I do agree on the point about a VP or someone on the board.

A CIO is **not** a lesser position to a CTO, in fact it is a greater one from the perspective of an employee. A CIO when no CTO exists is exactly the same as a CTO. When both exist the CTO handles external relations and a CIO handles internal technology. Typicall neither report to the board, only the CEO reports to the board. Thought there are exceptions (both as CIO and CTO I sat on the board as both respective companies and am an owner in both companies).

The fallacy here is that you are assuming CIO is lesser to a CTO, that is certainly not the case. Also remember there are secondary titles, for example I was CIO **and** EVP (Executive Vice President) which actually meant as CIO I was explicitly above in rank to the CTO, the CTO literally had to report to me.

Sorry I should have said :the americas not "the world"... it is native to asia, africa and Europe but not to the americas.

@wikipedia

Not sure who needs to hear this... but... honey bees throughout the world are an **invasive** species. They are only native to Europe. Stop trying to save invasive species!

@niclas

You have it backwards, the point is medicine isnt a word that means "bad".. everything is a medicine, the ones that can kill you need prescriptions, the ones that cant you dont is all. Many exist in nature either way.

@AmpBenzScientist

@niclas

You also cant keep your body free of medicine, everything you eat, every breath you take is a "medicine".

@AmpBenzScientist

@niclas

Side effects != bad... EVERYTHING has side effects. Protein has the side effect of killing off your kidneys, but in reasonable doses it is quite good for you. Just because something has a side effect doesnt make it bad. The dose makes the posion.

@AmpBenzScientist

@niclas

Most food additives are perfectly safe and its usually a lot of crazy people thinking its bad (the same sort of people who think seed oil is bad).. Like MSG is often seen as bad, it isnt of course, same thing with many dyes. That said, there are bad ones too of course.

Medications are a mixed bag, none of them are perfectly healthy on their own. Medication is always a balance between the risk reward compared with the underlying disease.

@AmpBenzScientist

@niclas

As long as we refine that statement to "toxic chemicals" then sure... everything is a chemical :)

@AmpBenzScientist

@AmpBenzScientist Im more worried about women who tend to really abuse the fascial creams and masks... people often say how men age so much better than women, ya ever think it is the toxic chemical sup they cover their face in 24/7?

@mike805

Well yeah having a lobotomy would kind of suck too, especially after anti-psychotic meds were invented.

Pretty god analogy IMO.

I am somewhat worried that Ozempic is going to turn out like Fen-Phen to have some nasty consequences. But for now it seems to be helping people who were doomed to be hungry otherwise.

Medicine is calculate risk. For now, as a new medication, it should be limited to cases where without a solution death is fairly high consequence already. Over time as we find it safer and safer we should relax those requirements.

That seems to largely the case though, not too much abuse I have seen. But im sure there is some. That said, given the pharmocology of the drug it seems reasonable to assume it is likely safe. Most hormone analogs are pretty predictable in how they behave.

Moisturizer is just a heroin addiction for your skin. Do people even realize that if you use it more than a few times it causes your skin to need it to even function and like cigarettes you need to use it just to get your skin like it used to be.

People who use it for years and then stop will literally have their skin peeling off and cracking.

With the effectiveness of GLP-1 medications finally treating the underlying disorder (a GLP disregulation) bariatric surgery (like gastro bypass) looks like the dark ages. Might as well be drilling holes in their head.

I kinda feel bad for the people who were convinced to get it, having a perminantly deformed and broken digestive system and not fixing the underlying hunger issues...

#palestine #israel #peace In regard to the claim I have recently seen claims here that Palestine rejected the Oslo Accords. Not true. Palestine adhered to its part of the Agreement to recognise the existence of an Israeli State. Israel still does not recognise a Palestinian State
The agreement set a time guideline of 5 years, during which time Israel would withdraw from the 1967 occupied Palestinian territories in accordance with UNSC Resolutions 242 & 338. It did not.
