@mneme Can you actually back up the claim that the increase in numbers were due to an increase in human farmed bees vs natural bees?

The numbers I presented were calculated by setting up bee traps in various random locations and then counting the species of bees noticed. It makes no distinction on where their hive is, it simply is a measure of how many bees one would encounter inthe wild.

You seem to have a premise without any peer-reviewed source to back it up, most of what I read just state that the bee populations are booming and I have yet to find a paper to suggest otherwise(though there are some that suggest specific species need our help)

Any plans for the future to make the toot limit customizable, or is it likely to stay as a hard limit? I had to modify our instance to up the limit to 65K characters, but also adding in some features to make sure its not abused.

I've been writing my journal entries in Gothic script (Blackletter frakfurt). The practice is really starting to show. Still playing with different letter forms though.

@muehlfield@social.tchncs.de Well an idea doesnt need to be challenged if a proper case to support the idea was never presented in the first place. The burden of proof is on the person making the claim, not those who are dismissing it due to lack of evidence.

@Ajz@mastodon.nl The hardest part about dutch language, aside from the conjugations itself, is how you have words that have completely unrelated definitions. Like the word for weather.

I apoogize, I knew about it but I thought I was the only active user so I didnt make it a priority. I will start looking into the process to renew it. Its a free cert so shouldnt be too hard.

@Ajz@mastodon.nl When you say "very informal" I suspect, and correct me if i'm wrong, what you really mean is slang. It isnt just informal but not proper english.. when i think of formal vs informal i think of explicitly respectful vs neutral, but both formal and informal are usually technically "correct".

To use an english analogy "hows it going" is informal, "how are you sir" is formal, and "yo, how's it" would be slang and improper english, but understood and not unheard of among friends.

But thank you, that makes perfect sense. If you cant tell my Dutch is extremely limited. I have lived in the netherlands 3 times now, less than a year each time. I keep trying to learn the langauge and no matter how hard I try I cant get past the basics.
