But yea I agree, he himself is not particularly remarkable in any way other than perhaps being good at making money. How much of that has been luck till now I cant say.

thats why the "right to leave" clause is there, as a final escape measure... All of the instances right now are strongly anti-TERF and wouldnt accept it locally, let alone in the UFoI as a whole... Should what you describe every happen then the TERF instance get voted out.. if that doesnt work then all the good-actor instances just leave and reform their own federation. At which point the TERFs are just stuck into their own little silo like they were before.

You **can** defederate from instances that make your lives worse.. our first rule probhibits that, so no such server would ever make it into the UFoI in the first place. If they did you'd need only report them... You can also suggest new code of ethic entries if you feel it isnt sufficient, it is, afterall, just a draft for now.

@GeePawHill It would be soooo simple to fix too, I just dont get it.. Once I built a physical device that just goes inline on the audio cable and it provided dynamic level control.. it was a fun analog project... If your interested I can show you it running in a simulator online, its kinda cool.

Someone really needs to build some sort of logarithmic volume filter into linux... a way to keep the normal volume scenes loud enough to hear but reduce the volume on the loud scenes. This way you can listen to a movie in the middle of the night and not annoy your neighbors and not need to keep lowering it everytime an action scene hits.... how is this not a thing already!
