Two counter possibilities... 1) your timemachine moves through time with you, like a car it doesnt need to exist at your destination 2) it "throws" you into the past, you just land there, with no machine anywhere to be seen. A bit like getting shot out of cannon.

So the two party system hoax, is bore out but an illusion that does lend to this thinking, and it can be understood why.

In FPTP voting systems there is a strong tendency for each election for there to be at most 2 parties that collect most of the votes. What a FPTP system does not do is cause the same 2 parties to consistently win during each election.

But its an illusion because it is not reflection actually support from the people. They will vote for someone other than who they want as a compromise. Sot eh actual "real" support is usually wildly different than the public manifestation of support in the form of votes.

In other words if parties have A: 35% B: 33% C:32% in terms of peoples preferred candidate, what you will see is the actual vote will turn out to be A:51% B: 49% C: 2%

However the very next year if C gains 1% support and B looses 1% support then the very next year you will see a sudden shift in votes at A: 51% B: 2% C: 49%

So while there isnt **really** a two party system this illusion tends to make people thing it is. Then once they think it is it becomes self reinforcing people people are idiots.

So apparently if I fill out this Gallup poll I get $5 donated to the charity of my choice.... Somehow I highly doubt thats true, I bet when i specify my own non-profit as the charity I want to donate ill run into some problems.

I have to admit, as far as spam mail advertising goes this is the best tactic ive seen. Not sure how legal it is but by including a real dollar bill it definately got my attention.

If we were talkign about just some passing decision that has a slight racist tinge to it, sure. But we are talking about a man who centered his entire career around this racism, has said explicitly racist thigns, and has continued to be either explicitly racist or clearly a racist in stealth since then (he doesnt hide it well).

@johnabs Right, and i did point that out, that much of the difference between men and womens reaction may very well be how men treat women vs how women treat men.

I am not really trying to judge a womans response or comparing who responds better, men or women. I just want to understand the feelings and emotional responses a woman would have internally to such a reaction.

Good intentions can be twisted into very evil things at times. Intentions dont mean shit when your system of morality is so corrupted that you will make these sort of behaviors.. But i maintain that even these things, in their own twisted minds, are done because they believe they are serving some greater good (even if they clearly are not).
