Just for fun I decided to do the math to calculate the amount of Ozempic/semiglutide in my system based on the usualy dosing of every 7 days (in red), versus dosing every single day (at 1/7th) the dose (in green).

The two colors represent the upper and lower limit (it will at the upper limit right after a dose and at the lower limit right before a dose).

Notice that dosing every day makes for a much more stable concentration. Note this assumes a 1 mg dose (y-axis) and the x-axis is in days. I will start dosing every day tomorrow.

For those curious I also attached the equation that I calculated (derived) for the half-life. Both in its continuous form and as the summation.

Im currently hiring people and we have this running joke whenever we interview someone for a Sr Developer position who feels closer to an intermediate. I usually go "Ya think he will buy it if we say he misheard and the position was for a Seรฑor Programmer?"

At this point im pretty sure we are one election away regardless of who wins.

@freemo The Oct 7 attack is looking like a strategic victory for Hamas in one sense.

Israel's response has destroyed the Holocaust-survivor shield that has made Israel untouchable all these years.

If Israel loses international support, it is a small country surrounded by more angry young men than it has bullets.

Hamas "attacked the enemy's strategy" as Sun Tzu advises. Israel did exactly what Hamas wanted them to do in response.

@freemo The domestic politics is horribly conflicted. The Israel lobby remains very powerful, but the Democrats are catching hell from the Left over Palestine. So they are trying to please two masters, and will end up earning the wrath of both.

Which might just hand the Presidency over to Trump.

Woot, we brought up a website for my new company with a little bit of information. Hopefully will make the hiring process a bit smoother too.

Naturally our company website also doubles as a based single-user instance.

@freemo @LouisIngenthron "True by definition".

<insert sad Bertrand Russel and Alfred North Whitehead on their 370 page proof of 1+1=2>

Ya know people joke when they say "everyone one of your ancestors got laid, be proud"... That shit actually does motivate me.

The math around pharmakinetics of Ozempic/semiglutide (and many drugs in fact) is fun from a mathematics standpoint and not too hard to understand.

Basically it has a 7 day half life, so they dose it every 7 days. So each week the amount in your blood right after an injection is : 1, 1.5,1.75.... approaching 2. Which means after about a month you reach max dose and it naturally levels off. The curve is basically logarithmic if you did the math though.

Its a nice little intro to finite infinite series, a fun topic IMO.

@freemo

do the ones you know want us to have universal health care?

@wjmaggos So as far as billionaires go I only may know one (I'm not sure if he is a billionaire but he is damn close, he was the main investor in a very long list of well known large companies).

And yes, you will often find him in pictures standing next to Obama int he white house back when he was in office. He put a lot of time and money into lobbying for democrat party interest, which included universl health care.

The problem with bias is its both directional, and the person afflicted by it is by that same affliction unable to be aware of it.

So is science biased, yea, its run by people, there is plenty of bias corrupting it all over the place. But I'd rather trust the people trying to be objective than the people who arent.

@freemo Not too many free lunches in nature. From this chart, the only way to get off the line common to all materials is structural - making a foam out of it. Not really an analog that can push you in the opposite direction, above the line.

@freemo The style of chart you're looking for is an Ashby chart. With some google-foo, the closest flavor of Ashby chart to what you want I could find publicly available is this:

@customdesigned positronium exists pretty much anytime antimatter-matter collisions take place. They go through a process where they form positronium first, and then after a short halflife will decay into photons. But they dont directly annihilate, just like any other matter they fall into orbitals first until they give off enough energy to reach ground state, their ground state is just annihilation

Why cant I find a chart of materials where each point is a material, and the y axis is thermal conductivity and the x-axis is specific heat capacity

@freemo In your meme, they are destroying the money by burning it (not spending it). They are literally and irreversibly reducing the money supply, and hence inflation.
