2020 the age of designer disorders...

On the one hand I can say I **do** like the fact that mental disorders have more acceptance and less stigma, but my god did the pendulum swing too far. Now its a point of pride to the point that people just make up (or even get frivolously diagnosed) just to be cool or accepted. Autism and ADHD seem to be the designer disorders of the day and I am completely convinced the overwhelming majority of people who claim to have autism, or were even diagnosed, at least the high-functioning ones, dont.

My weight can typically swing about 5lbs in either direction due to water weight fluctuation over a 2 day period. Its making it tricky to track my weight loss.

Woman: I am into style and fashion

Me: Yea me too!

Woman: Oh cool, whats your favorite style?

Me: I'm really into those small bikinis where the woman's boobies poke out from the under side of the bikini.... Man I just love fashion!

Woman: ::blank stare::

Hello fediverse, lil cry for help: I’m looking to speak to someone with vitelliform macular dystrophy caused vision loss, so I can ask about their experience with the onset of symptoms. I was diagnosed ~3 years ago and until recently hadn’t experienced symptoms, I believe I now am but would love to chat to others about their experiences. Compulsory masto disclaimer: I’m not looking for advice other than the specific ask above, thank you. Boosts much appreciated πŸ’–

Being on anaboilc steroids is not what I expected to be honest... still waiting on that roid rage to kick in and give me a bit more energy :)

If you pay cash most places I’ve seen cut the price in half so there’s truth to that. What can happen is the insurance companies want big discounts to be in their network. So in order to accommodate that, providers raise the list price so the middle managers at the insurance companies can show their bosses how much they β€œsaved” the company. It’s a game.

Another problem that drives up costs is underpayments. We have laws on the books that any hospital that takes any federal money has to see everyone through the ER regardless of whether the person can pay or not. And they can’t just release someone to the streets after treatment. So many hospitals have agreements with local motels to set people (usually homeless) for 1 night to release them β€œsafely”. Those costs can add up. Our medical tort system which is very litigious runs up the insurance costs of providers, especially certain specialists like obstetricians. Ironically one of worst payers in insurance is the Federal Government with Medicaid being one of the worst.

While itβ€˜s good that people can be seen, those losses have to be made up somehow. And they do this by having really high list prices.

@freemo I think that banning health insurance could get rid of this problem overnight.

This cant be said enough... When i had a doctor come to my door asking if i had any masks to donate I had some choice words for that schmuck.

Just a reminder, if you smoke regularly... The end of your life will you be slowly suffocating for several years as you hallucinate from lack of oxygen grasping for breath. I've witnessed it and it is a horrible way to die. Keep your lungs clean folks, trust me.

Me watching a math video knowing what is about to come:

Video: But Reimann decided to take it one step further...

Me screaming at the tv: Fucking Riemann!

Replace leftist with "low decoupler" and I think you're about 95% right. And I'm not saying anything about the correlation between left/right and high/low decoupling, but I think that people who can't independently evaluate the logic of an emotionally charged claim are more likely to exhibit this kind of behavior.

@freemo The Children are wise and becoming adults, The foolish are silent acting like babies and the Wise speak up and start doing things earlier and more often than not! 😸

Trump has less than a week to arrange a $454 million bond. There are 331.9 million US citizens. If each American spends only $1.37, then we can all buy a cheap chocolate bar to enjoy while we watch the State of New York seize Trump's properties.

@freemo @khird

It seems it is fixed now!
Thank you for doing it...

Cheers
