Very cool COVID-19 resource tracks the Rt value of the virus across various states in near-real-time. Obviously a value above 1.0 means the number infected are increasing daily and below 1.0 means its decreasing. Really useful way to see what level of quarantining is working and what isnt.

so I have been working a little bit each day in my spare time on a rather absurd refactor job... it was too much work to do by hand so I wrote a script that refactored my code for me... since it was throw away code i didnt put any effort of any kind into quality control and well, it shows.

Its so horrific I just had to share the refactoring script witht he world just so other can marvel at the horror.

I have hit some new level of hell.

I find tedious "moneky coding" unbearable and have been putting off a self-imposed refactor for a while because it had so much work involved and really hard to automate.

I finally gave in and started doing it but instead of doing the refactor directly im writing a whole new program that parses the code and rewrites it for me.. an annoyingly complex task, but still more enjoyable than doing the refactor by hand.

I forgot about the Red Dawn movie (and anti-communism movie from the 80's).. Watching it again today for the first time in well over a decade... I have to say i was at least a bit inspired by mastodon communists posts lol.

Wow, using my old transmitter without a waterfall display is painful to say the least.. I feel like I entered the dark ages again.

Since it will be a few weeks at least before I get my transmitter fixed I really need to figure out a way to use my SDR to get a waterfall display again, or something....

You can see some serious scorching on the coax connector from the lightening strike...

Ya know how some of the less intelligent people on social media keep griping about how the death toll of COVID-19 is no worse than a normal flu... well next time show them this graph.
