My 4th grade teacher (upstate NY) taught us how to read newspapers with scavenger hunts for facts and bonuses for finding mistakes. We also learned how to write an editorial and how to write a letter of complaint or inquiry to a company with emphasis on "being a kid" and encouraged to extort them for free merch. Rest in peace Mr. Siegler.
