ATARI 51years ago! (+your childhood included I assume!)

Here's my own animated creation using stock graphic of a cassette + animating it.

As a "cheers" to Atari, and homage to what I kind of kinda literally 'LOOP'ed into... (I had nothing better to play with... and then PC came along an well whadda know still using that too!)

Atari name comes from the Japanese term atari, used while playing the ancient board game Go.
(bet you didn't know that!)

And that it was an American company with Japanese sounding name ?

The word atari means "to hit a target" in Japanese and is associated with good fortune; in Go, it indicates a situation where a player will be able to capture one or more stones of the opponent in the next move.

😃 The company fizzled and perhaps Amiga was better but what a storm all that time was!

practical love for life... let's do it...
(let's chat more often)

I must be like Rumi because: "writers and poets are considered as negligible, frivolous, tawdry sideshows...."

I'm more than only just that (and not as religious) but the love for people and knowing we make each other alive I do have...

so consider me Rumi-esque and check my posts / increase the relativity and practical love for life! ❤️

The numbers in the image may not be entirely accurate, but this is how it works when your data is sold to third parties.

It all depends on how vulnerable you are. If you have been abused and are more vulnerable, you are worth more money to Facebook, for example.

This is sick to say the least! The screenshot comes from a YouTube video: piped.video/watch?v=WkLvpxImRG

Just got my blog started for my cycling adventures! I will try to keep it updated as best I can. More content will be added as time goes by.

Maybe @evelyn is interested following the blog? 🙂

Why do you exist if you're not going to give it to the next generation?

(I don't mean every 'should' but really what I'd like to know is what you personally intend to live for?)

Also because it seems people get into games in life (like computer games but other non-game games) and then they are working / doing stuff without considering a bit what it's for in the end... ?

Do you want to create another world from this one TOGETHER?

How strongly do you want to try new ways towards a new world?

(get in contact to try something more)

"Open-sourced Evil" type of open-source! 🤯

left unchecked can easily become "Open-sourced Evil" type of open-source! 🤯

Like all these servers running commercial things, totally not giving back - multibillion dollar companies even complaining to volunteers/geeks to fix it! Those ad-farm type things could totally not exist!

Does seem like openness has this kind of weak point / very regularly exploited factor... which getting permission from someone / origins can really keep lid on things...

otherwise you can "open-sourced evil" type of open-source that take over like overgrowing weeds* !

(* even though I like weeds as usually you can eat them like spinach / make tea / etc ! Those BigTech servers aren't even worth that as weeds ! )

@gabek Is this kind of like "how to use a hammer for good? And how to use it for bad?" type of scenario

(hammer ok has a purpose but how to stop / encourage better practices I guess what you mean?)

Does seem like openness has this kind of weak point / very regularly exploited factor... where sometime getting permission from maker really does keep lid on things... otherwise you can "open-sourced evil" type of open-source (!)

@zughy_boi @fsfe @minetest Hi how does this all work!? Text about it / Any peertube videos?
+ How hard was librapay.com as donations to setup? (and minus points about it?)

Friendly reminder that if you like what I do and you want to support it, you can donate at liberapay.com/Zughy/ 🌸

I could trick you by saying that it'll make me more productive warts and all, but it'd actually cut me some slack. God I'd love some slack 🐌

"1 or 2 decent people with time can make better work than 100,000 nice camels... I mean users that are non-creative"

- (Do you want to create another world from this one?)

Reclaiming people not so possible (and is part of Reclaiming anytime, incl Social Media / BigTech users)... + Need to make better ladders from this point up with existing advanced users... as they also don't believe or communicate in way improving our positions!...

@bloodaxe You sound like me :) So what I will say is after I tested everything and everyone I met over "all my life" (really!)

And that is to say something like "huamns are like animals" and the "I don't care" or "My focus is on other stuff, my kids / other stuff" is basically a cut off point we don't need to push too hard on resolving "It just is" and better / more enjoyable / less losing heat is by joining with existing people (which is actually as-problematic as the other people but a bit more mutual and some ground and interaction can be made, but even the best haven't really lasted in conversation / building).

I'll throw some names out but basically the good people also have communication problems or lack emotional intelligence needed in the world (even for computer projects let alone "solving the world tech stuff")

I won't advertise those I've tested but is a good case and don't mind giving him credit (who is good but not flexible any more for next gen's or even just communication even though he replies!)

What I'm trying to say is that it is a challenge even with the best, but the best could allow for that and let me and others "do their thing", right now the clique-y type stuff and other things (like elephants scared of mice or people scared of anonymous people) is all a factor...

So it's not about getting all people across and anyway we have enough good people from here... it's about from here to the next steps and making a full ladder that every "idiot" or less interested person can later climb the ladder once we have more steps / rungs on it. Almost too many at this level not stepping up to more humanly intelligent and dare I say loving or caring to the human sides of life! (inescapable and either way affect everything despite tech looking like it's advanced)

So again zoomed out now, I don't even think we need to reclaim those bad things at all - people really like them... I have run "tests" and people go back like prostitutes to pimps (willingly)... <--- is not a bad example and is really their choice which after talking to them makes sense, it's a hell to change / fight all your life and then at the end it is about business (we are in it / born from it) so all they do is accept or even embrace which even we need them... and it gives us time to think and make better / longer ladder... as even with the best they haven't been able to continue marathons or love themselves enough / be self-less and continue what you mentioned but not looking to other BigTech to try do it....

It's like saying "Reclaim Yourself" to others and seriously they wouldn't know what to do given the time... so it's up to us, even to create it without them at first but with all things good in mind... the numbers don't matter... kind of like yeast or bacteria - good methods can germinate and grow the mind (and the tech- but not without the mind / belief in themselves / others / towards real peace / poverty and sharing more as the equaliser)... etc etc

Old robust ways and protocols (unless really new is proven) + people's awareness improved / Time to grow the mind not just tech!

@bloodaxe Yup agree social media is to "everyone" somewhat so to some level it comes with the usage.

(small note: I meant leaking for the other areas of people's life, leaking due to bad practices in general / what they sign up for / allowing all permissions to everyone without caring and inspecting the nature of things).

Old robust ways and protocols (unless really new is proven) + people's awareness improved / Time to grow the mind not just tech!

@bloodaxe In general... I would say people themselves being better on simple protocols are going to be the better winner in the end...
[🎵 Linkin Park - "In the End" 🎵 ]

I know the question was a bit different to my answer but overall XMPP / Email / ActivityPub / WebRTC styles of stuff I think is low footprint way and less complicated with simple ways added to that like password / temporary key / filtering people 1 by 1 / 1-use / disposable links etc

e.g. privnote.com/ for example being useful for sending passwords, safer uploads bin.dembased.xyz and instances of other software that can be spun up personally by people - maybe it's susceptible but less a dragnet thing...

yeah like Jitsi can be a personal instance and simple text pads etc... even FTP beats Nextcloud as it's no-install / native to all Linux and again with simple measures (FTP+password or switch off when not used) and better practices... it's almost like not needing 1 big thing, and that being most effective lol

The expectation that 1 big system does this I think is flawed - we need to unite to protocols and older ways unless new can prove it sticks around for using mutual / safer ways more often....

My two cents thrown in there...
"people practices improved more than installing more tech"

(..or "people practices on top of existing good stuff" as it's more than enough and keeps our focus ON IMPROVING PEOPLE since we have basic / non-bloat ways)

if you're not looking to improve people then you just have stupid people on clever technology" (sorry for use of stupid) who are leaking everything else around

By not advancing people's practices /awareness/care for people (which I think is 100% the aim) means we fail in the end... or keep moving platforms without caring... no use having great stuff while everyone leaking data elsewhere AND not caring to improve alt ways. We have enough already, time to grow the mind !

No-Ads Youtube! ....... who actually checks the code ?!

@bonifartius Truth is probably these below which I'm not sure how to resolve since ALL is fairly trust based (while yes some code being able to be checked):

- who actually checks the code I don't know! I guess we rely that 'someone' will or would have found out but you're right.

- we don't know them at all / most of us don't interact with software people enough to know for sure if they are decent, and well that classic thing of "too many to check"

- are add-ons any more different to above?

Overall the fact this software does the job, is classic "I don't mind" kind of vibes though I would mind if it was honeypotting BUT imagine that is the normal link anyway... and if they asked I'd even perhaps help them if they wanted my video list!

Also from seeing youtube audio inteview (Ghosty as representative) and other things I get the mutual feelings it comes from care / passion / rebellion and not deception... while I measure that in everything anyway (so worse case is they get my data rather than YouTube + less adverts to their 9999 partners)

I also 100% prefer using links so others that don't have get filtered from clicking... if I use add on then I'm still practically pushing direct links and also seen to support them! So using other links achieves 2 big full-proof / fool-proof things

Ok now to next video how to grow seeds since I have 10000's of them...
