An interesting comparison you make between these two but not sure about how in comparison is for you other than being a known speaker -

Both do great work in many fields (Louis much more vocal nowadays maybe I think). They share a lot but not totally same fields? You could explain more why these two.

#RMS / @rms is good at speaking but lost "the people" side of contact for now (my opinion after trying with him)... I think he STILL has big opportunity as I see it if he can do some cringe work with us to really inspire all levels ore personally.

I have sent him things he has read which I could detail a bit BUT he measurably ignores do this people work in a 2-ways systems / more personal thing like a Mother Theresa or Gandhi) is 100% lacking or didn't have any answer back on the movement being more people than computers in the future (since we have plenty solved in computing or making more mess and really the users were always the weak points even on Fediverse doing computer-only stuff).

So I think I can respectfully speak on his behalf (measurably and got some response back which is great from a high level person) and can say he sticks to computing and his online account is basically evidence of that as a PURE re-posting of Guardian links and news (almost only) and somehow he is expecting people to do something without re-connecting ourselves in our personal lives.

So yeah your comparison is interesting (say more) but for years @rms is just a Guardian links machine here and apart from some great talks I have on him, he's a limited source and without personal context (even if he used me or others to spread he works / mentality to avoid being occupied by it).

SUMMARY If you can't use the movement - you don't really have one / it's slow progress.

ANY THOUGHTS?

I long for the day someone corrects me to say "your wrong / he's changed" or that's not the way to to it.

Because less people work = less change as WE are the problem too )not even google but us) and he falls into 're-blogger' category instead of long-way around people builder / worker in these fields which is the best healing stuff for all the cancers...

WHAT CAN I MEASURE ABOUT RMS?

My 'measurement of #RMS quickly:

a) I have sent him short and long writing and literally he reads the parts he wants and avoids clear blocks of text in this psychological / people work
b) Isn't currently willing to consider feeding fans / use them differently other than just computers as the focus - which a lot of computer-people have made the mistake of - basically not linking back to people in the loop!

A BIT LONG BUT movements are not always about the short and plenty of opportunity to use everyone to upgrade their skill, not just their computer software. (Tapping the side of my head summarise the end of this writing)
