I tried this last year and it didn't happen but it's worth another shot! My 2y/o son (US, WV/OH) is waiting for a kidney transplant. We've known since he was born that Ripley would need a #KidneyTransplant once he was big enough but every donor, include myself, has been knocked out of consideration. #AI is a reflection of people who don't want people in the equation...
This might be why I'm not so happy with the world and/or see more potential in nice people or my admin or peers.
People might want to work with their computers and AI more than people (so it would be ok if it was both computer-work AND people-work but if it's just mostly computers (even if it's really cool and lights our life up for a bit) then in the end it's spinning more money (and money's debt) instead of actually advancing the average human (which I think talking to each other in circles about our passions and 'therapy' somewhat too) does a hell of a lot more then AI.
AI of no use to humans from what we have already (each other and yes some computing). Everything else more toys and profit machines / server farms.
And we wouldn't even relax even if what you do does help people have less work... the bar would only be raised and you'd have to work harder WITH AI !
So overall the people work is skipped and we miss the whole point of "PROBLEMS" (WHICH IS HUMANS EITHER AS BASTARDS OR IDIOTS/HAVING OTHER FOCUSES).
People miss the whole point IF they think AI can save people when we need to ask humans to do it (whatever it is)... and also to save themselves but not using #AI all in / if at all.
P.S
I mean the new complex AI, the old AI or a paint program assistant / picture filter is much less of a footprint and risk...

I am years late BUT how you do you feel about this "hospitality exchange" topic approximately?
@humanetech@mastodon.social @liaizon @ohn I feel hospitality has lots of potential and in different ways.
Fediverse also in the mix there too. Perhaps it's mostly about the admins or who is interested in talking (sort of back to couchsurfing isms) ... so since we know about couchsurfing it's also another question "What if another bunch of non-talkers act up later down the line"
(What's listed on the existing post I've seen good things from BUT also seem a bit 'slow' or not wanting to deal with more work / be dynamic / people-orientated somewhat.
Fediverse is all about the potentials of that list in positive spectrum (again with some considerations / dealing with fears we can touch on later)....

I have time to talk (just saying) but don't feel you have to (actually you could indicate you interest in talking... or not)
I can do audio chats with people, am clear and give disclaimers and have the "creative tolerance" for just about anyone - so I'd like to test /something/ more than nothing! in theory and then we'll see...
Also *giving* people / someone this kind of soft "people work" / feedback session I think is really the piece of the puzzle missing sometime to increment or sort things... 
Something like audio chat Jitsi / Matrix could really help just jump in and also keep it a bit personal if needed as I know that helps some people talk and part of people's more closer-circle lifestyle... either way- what do you think?!

BUT war could also be more of a tough battle of logic, empathy etc - just something more than physical attrition and monetary power. more towards mental health and therapy while still "doing something about everything".
