Anyone know where I can follow intelligent folks in these spaces?

- Mechanics of the #fediverse and how to help it grow

- #politics #activism #organizing actionable plans to meaningfully engage

- #songwriting #Music production, #musicindustry

- #psychology and #science of #cults incl strategies to help someone leave

- #publichealth & #epidemiology

- #machinelearning

- #comedians

@jameslanman Wow I just posted about help about people in general - similar on how to "access the Fediverse" for working together more often on many of these levels... so for answers:

- I guess help join people (like finding your post)

- but also needs you to find people and check profiles and message people...

not sure how else to customise it genuinely even en mass... unless your posts include some material related and you want for people to contact you - but it will be years that way alone!

So here's me as some of those but not 100% all in -

Most of Fediverse seems a bit of a flop for now in this non-specialist but together sense -

Hope you can prove me wrong

So it was a nice coincidence to see a shout -

my profile and posts will say at lot about what I think and why

Let me know what you think / and what you're looking for as some examples in each of you categories? (like what about ?) ⬅️ all those need more clarity for me

And "...strategies to help someone leave" ⬅️ what does it mean?

Thanks

All here. Please ⭐ this toot if you value people 💓 just a bit more than cats on !

And the other answers:

➡️ yes this instance has unlimited text limit ( 65230 chars) and the CW is used to make things shorter / optional.

➡️ most of my toots are about unfairness - understanding it and then what to do about it

(in short it's therapy or circle here of being together online now that the "in-person" life is too conditional and too unhealthy / censored outside).

What can help solve things / everything are strangers and then optionally to make friends.

➡️ I do get it can be all too much - even answering this in one day - but checking hashtags in posts and skipping fast hopefully gets us there surely...

Inflation - We're all fighting against inflation itself 💲 Inflation taxes and devalues all people for staying in the monetary system - a kind of trojan horse reducing value of our efforts during each year - compounding inflation!!... 💲📈

"Inflation" also means:

➡️ "Lack of elegance as a consequence of being pompous and puffed up with vanity"

Yeeeees! English sometimes does well to name what things like Inflation are really similar to as part of the same word! (Happens a lot)

We're all fighting against this artificially added tax and unfair pushing of people to their limits... 'maximising' people to death...

or

With we fight better against / / /

Great - Thanks for reply and enjoyed how meaningful is was (cup of tea and fast reading for the rest!)

Great - Thanks for reply and enjoyed the meaningfulness inside it... (cup of tea and fast reading for the rest!)

@juliewebgirl Super stuff. Because...
⭐ you replied
⭐ there is some meaning to it.

Often people have little reply and little meaning, and this is exactly what is lacking and what people want (without the effort lol)

I really enjoy the idea you could follow but skip things fast unless really everything always comes on your screen and bugs your conscious as mine does about caring stuff!

So part of the way forward in almost any sense - mine yours anyone else's - is that we can feel out something more meaningful in the world.

You can stop there - I'll draw a line but there's more below IF you can read fast and with humanity in mind as the overall project in some sense... which I accept isn't for everyone.
=====================================
ABOUT BUILDING HUMANITY BETTER ONLINE
=====================================

Often there is only us individuals to help build each other - little else to tell us what is right or from a genuine personal perspective. Nobody tells you straight like a stranger either.

It's not some external foreign thing either, like a State to take care of us. They don't.

Anyway now for "Summary of Points" from what you said in reply:

➡️ First is note that you also wrote a lot (which I enjoyed)

A bit of a smile to myself about how people like to write and do write well! (forgive those that write 'too well' but most is a genuine effort)

➡️ when it's THEIR thing it's fine to write 'long' hehe and that could be 'our thing' as because we're all part of the same whole usually in many ways and we could allow things more often to at least consider 'long' especially if never doing it)

➡️ Skipping stuff is fine!

Skip a lot! When you skip fast, you find fast!

Move to next arrow if you like!

You will find good stuff fast that way - skip to next ➡️

➡️ If life is like 'why bother' then I get that. See pictures - that will suit those looking for pure bliss somewhat and those not wanting more than to superficially stay online and don't want actively to considering the real reasons why life if superficial 😃
We make life go around properly (or not)!

➡️ Surely don't follow me if 5 scrolls of my profile are absolutely terrible for you - but if you see I'm genuine and like it troubles your soul in a progressive way then that's different and needs a bit of care only in it's digestion and interaction (yes I write a lot) - a breather yes - but not ignoring
or being "I don't want you to teach me anything because I don't like feeling like I'm lower" - I get it!). A loose distant thing is fine!

➡️ My media page shows my edited pictures curated as a 'best of' gallery that helps see things differently / non-text version

🖼️ qoto.org/web/@freeschool/media

MAYBE AFTER pictures go to text from pictures (link at the bottom goes to post text) if relly wanting to know more how it's all to us and usable in yOur life.

➡️ Naturally the computer or text format and interface is not as nice as pictures - I get the 'media gallery' might be the best way to view things at least at first 😉

➡️ I also enjoy the short BUT life is not that kind of self-practice / or journey.

Often why people HATE a lot (and do write long after that lol) is because people do learning the wrong way, and they expect short answers or only 1 answer per question (!) Is it that simple? Easily not.
So that expectation in itself is a problem and traps people to in turn expect themselves to get farther by doing less distance - nooo, short is circular / problematic / cat chasing tale / being chased by same cat / being afraid by own shadow.

It grates the eye to see long but the heart to feel understood or see progress in people. Sounds like I need you to feel good or have some condition but this is normal 'Ubuntu' (I am because you are / because of you I exist more)

⭕ Hard to see vicious circles but they are common, and even build up tension and lack of capacity which is why I'm defining it here (both for you / me / others)

⭕ Your life (and the children's lives) depend on it. (this is not to get you to follow or as ultimatum - it's just everyone effects everyone else although they don't want to claim credit for doing less of this stuff and then seeing more bad in the world (don't mean you exactly). If physical world is being cut off more and less spaces to talk, this is also why things can get a bit longer here online since there is no real community in mostly places and all financially born / dying without meaning keeping them alive.

➡️ Even with short time it's ⭐the way⭐ people spend it and how much care - so you wrote very nicely -

➡️ Writing more in return I can see as bad or 'oh God will it be like this every time' but just a one time thing now... and yes not to kill each other if we knew some of this! If you knew all, then definitely skip me and congrats for ace-ing it all already!

➡️ Some people will always blame that there's never enough. But it's the way they do things or don't do them properly and measured with right people.

➡️ If people are constantly ditching people instead of investing ⏱️ - what do you get?

Easy to say type of solutions - but other people are hardly going to grow 🟠 oranges for each as fruit or wisdom that way! And probably just throw each other tomatoes instead going nowhere arguing over orange buffoons!

➡️ THERE IS A TON OF TIME IN LIFE ! Investing it helps everyone /everything.
Otherwise we see what we get! (lemons 🍋 🍋 🍋 and not even at the end!)

FINALLY

➡️ Clearly we all need help in everything...

➡️ Together we can do it.

I trust you know best after this and it's clearer. Come back soon etc...

I don't plan to write more but make it clear in 1 sense what we're doing or not.

You value yourself :gold: and all this also as part of yourself going forward hopefully!

Keep the fire alive :nes_fire: 🎇 💖

Flying My Colors

💬 "Never in my lifetime have I witnessed a politician (or campaign) so focused on demonizing others. So relentless in belittling fellow candidates, other politicians, and any American citizens whose views and values differ from his own. So fashioned around whetting the public appetite for division and violence. So openly courting our worst human impulses."

@juliewebgirl I need to do this but with those that don't reply (like when someone doesn't reply at all even after asking again and saying it's ok either way - when it's just nothing).

So to do the cleaning are you just looking one by one from your settings ?
And if they are interesting do you consider sending a message ? Just everything is not always deliberate and Mastodon type interfaces can be a bit chaotic ? (they might find you again also but for those super-interesting maybe).

Thanks for any tips.

A History of Western Philosophy (1945) became a best-seller and provided Russell with a steady income for the remainder of his life.

9 ➡️ Political causes
Bertrand Russell was opposed to war from a young age; his opposition to World War I was used as grounds for his dismissal from Trinity College at Cambridge. This incident fused two of his controversial causes, as he had failed to be granted fellow status which would have protected him from firing, because he was not willing to either pretend to be a devout Christian, or at least avoid admitting he was agnostic.

He later described the resolution of these issues as essential to freedom of thought and expression, citing the incident in Free Thought and Official , where he explained that the expression of any idea, even the most obviously "bad", must be protected not only from direct intervention but also and other means of being ...

10 ➡️ Society - Political and social activism
Much of Russell's time was politically active, almost to the end of his life, writing to and exhorting world leaders and lending his name to various causes. He was a prominent campaigner against Western intervention into the Vietnam War in the 1960s, writing essays and books, attending demonstrations, and even organising the Russell Tribunal in 1966 alongside other prominent philosophers such as Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir, which fed into his 1967 book War Crimes in Vietnam.

11 ➡️
Russell was an active supporter of the Homosexual Law Reform Society, being one of the signatories of A. E. Dyson's 1958 letter to The Times calling for a change in the law regarding male homosexual practices, which were partly legalised in 1967, when Russell was still alive.

12 ➡️
Russell expressed sympathy and support for the Palestinian people and was critical of Israel's actions. He wrote in 1960 that, "I think it was a mistake to establish a Jewish State in Palestine, but it would be a still greater mistake to try to get rid of it now that it exists.

For do I remember correctly that there was a time you could literally click icon or something to see the RSS?

Like in the url bar or near to padlock 🔒 / 3 dots / near go arrow you could see RSS page ?

And then if not even just add "/rss" woud work?

@MichaelKlamerus I fell in love with RSS because it eliminated the need to constantly reload pages in order to follow news/videos - but sites probably hated that because it meant less ad views.

I still use a self hosted FreshRSS instance to follow all my YouTube channels, because it's way better for keeping track of what I've watched and what's new.
