This is what I've been doing, starting out with FreeBSD in 1996, and then onto Linux

Because people don't know that instance admins actually have *real* power on the Fediverse, here's the many things they can do:

1. Ban you
2. Silence you
3. Automatically force all your posts behind a CW
4. Delete your posts
5. De-federate the instance you're on

But also, they can do pretty much do whatever they like -- they own their instance. 🧵

Well, any definitions for “active moderation”? Server moderators are not law enforcement. They can’t chase those people 7x24 unless you pay taxes to them.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
