How isolated an instance is from the others. Which means how much the people from one instance stay together.
It's the amount of mentions of users from other instances divided by the total amount of mentions.

This provides no information regarding how wide the network of the instance is, since you might have a very low insularity with just one federated instance. This might be the case of a small instance in a very specific field which often addresses users from the same field in a larger instance.

@inexcode I'm not sure, insularity does show up and it is what I'm interested in.
Since everything appears to be a bit broken though I do not trust it as a reliable measurement.

Once upon a time fediverse.social allowed to check the insularity of an instance.
Unfortunately the website is broken and the software is now unmaintained.
Do you know any other service providing statistics about mastodon instances?

Their competitors are investing pretty hard in openstreetmaps to lower the value of Google Maps.
I think the investment in openstreetmaps is overall quite good for the project itself.

I guess Google might be better off paying some developers to work for the fediverse to improve the systems and so on rather than opening their own instance.
They won't be making money off off it, but if that helps taking down the user base of Twitter, that will make them more prominent among the other tech companies.

Perché questo sarebbe gravissimo, le leggi si fanno lì, ma non si decide in parlamento come vadano applicate.
Casomai si scrivono le leggi bene in modo che vengano applicate come ci si aspettava.

I have seen some examples, but in general zettelkasten seems like a terrible way to share information with other people.

@entreprecariat Just dump all stuff in here, make sure that the first post is public and all the other ones are marked as unlisted.
When you make a new toot reply to the last one and make it public so that other people see that.

Alternatively, you can publish everything detached without a thread and link them with a common hashtag
