@neurob Secondo me ci sono due problemi in ballo: uno a breve termine ed uno invece più a lungo termine.
Il primo che ci si presenta da subito è l'integrazione di una grande quantità di grossi utenti abituati a dinamiche differenti in una società con abitudini differenti.
Questo è molto difficile dato che stanno arrivando tutti assieme e fanno gruppo trovandosi più facilmente tra di loro.
Dunque si instaura un gruppo duro con regole diverse all'interno del fediverso; due cose possono succedere o crescerà lentamente come un cancro oppure verrà lentamente esfoliato tramite l'integrazione.

Il secondo problema è invece più strutturale: Mastodon non può funzionare bene con una grossa quantità di utenti.
Gli stessi problemi che si avevano su Twitter si ripresenteranno qui se ci si iscriveranno così tante persone.
Gli strumenti di regolazione a confronto sono inutili: hai voglia a dire che ci sono gli admin di istanza e che se ne occupano loro... metti 100 milioni di utenti su 200 istanze e di ai 200 admin di regolare il tutto...
Questo sistema avrà dei grossi problemi e prima o poi si romperà.

I don't think literally using git to track publications was the main point he was trying to make though.
Just the idea of a system to keep track of versions and reviews.
Bare git would definitely not work for the purpose.

@kenobit Credo che questo non sia un buon esempio. Stiamo parlando di un social network popolato principalmente da esperti di informatica e persone attente alla privacy, almeno fino ad ora.
Chiedere qualcosa sul tema probabilmente porterà a risposte in tempi rapidi; così come chiedere qualche domanda tecnica sulle classi in C++.

Non so se questo regga quando invece si chiede di altre cose.
Tempo fa ho scritto opinioni sullo sviluppo di farmaci e sulla priorità delle malattie da curare; nessuno ha risposto.
Prova a chiedere cose specifiche in qualche ambito meno popolare su Mastodon, dubito che riceverai così tante risposte e così velocemente.

@AbNormal @kallisti Don't worry, all chemists were scared by all that at some point. Most of us just stayed in for the cool colours and explosions. Which is funny since it's a few years I don't do any of those things anymore...

Visto che la guardia di finanza ha implementato tutta una serie di metodologie all'avanguardia per scovare gli evasori, come il socialometro, volevo comparare il numero di evasori trovati con queste innovazioni con quello precedente.

Io ho cercato un po', sul sito della guardia di finanza, sui giornali, su vari siti istituzionali e via così.
Di dati sull'operato della GdF non si trova davvero nulla eccetto i saltuari "trovato ingegnere che ha evaso tot allo stato".
Voi sapete dove posso rimediare questa informazione? Chessò, un numero di evasori identificati ogni anno o quantità di denaro trovato.

Mi sembra assurdo che non sia possibile monitorare l'efficienza dei nostri servizi pubblici. D'altronde li paghiamo, mi pare il minimo avere informazioni sull'efficienza di qualcosa che si paga.

@statsepi I mean, there's been a long running rant on here of a very low amount of young people on this platform.
Most people I know here is over 40 and I only know a few people being less than 30 despite me being one of them.

@coogie I believe your attitude may not be the best to understand how things work and why they do work so; not necessarily I'm saying they work well.
I disagree with what you say, and in particular with your "nip that in the bud"; this is not a fresh social network in which rules and uses still have to be decided, there is a large user base who already communicates in a certain way.
I feel the best question for you should be: why in this social network I just joined boosts are not endorsement? After understanding that you may choose to disagree and try to change things.

I, for example, don't think people should just boost stuff they agree with and I very often boost stuff I really don't like.
As an example: political party leader said something unacceptable, I will boost that to let people know about the incompetence of the guy.
Moreover, I might boost someone making a point I disagree with to get more people into the conversation.

This is not Twitter, don't try to change it as if it was Twitter; there is plenty of things that don't work well; but the ability to read and talk about things you disagree with is not one of them.

After this Twitter migration my #GustavinoRatio dropped to 27% and the website can barely measure it for one single day due to the great amount of toots...
I'm sorry @GustavinoBevilacqua I can barely encounter a toot or two of yours among this huge flow.

Things are going to change rapidly here in the next weeks.
We'll see what happens.
It would be nice to monitor some parameters to be able to give some metric to these changes.
I guess something interesting would be the daily number of hashtags, which I believe is going to increase drastically.
