Etiopia, guerra

Stories of good people...

A long time ago when i was 19 years old, i moved to an apartment in Washington state. One roommate had me questioning the choice i just made, while the other was a saving grace. Bruce was one weird guy to say the least, but Brant was pretty much like a brother i never knew i had. Long story short, my money dried up after a few months, i couldn't find steady work and i was riding the bus or walking at times to see the lady i moved there for. Brant helped me out when he wasn't working, he took me to job interviews, we played video games, he introduced me to his friends and gave me a ride when i asked him. I normally gave him some gas money, but he wouldn't always accept it.

He treated me like we've been friends since grade school and then the day i was returning home came. We got in his truck and on the way to the airport he told me he was going to play me some real music. He put this song on and we didn't say a word the whole way and just vibed to this. We then arrived and i got out and walked around the truck and i shook his hand and thanked him for being there for me. I walked away and looked back with a nod and wave and that was the end of the journey and the last time i saw him or spoke to him again. This song will always remind me of that moment and I'll never forget it.

Thanks for reading my story if you cared to, it just made long forgotten memories begin to flow for me.

Are these sexual harassments? It feels to me most of the things she defines as such are simply flirting and asking someone out, which I don't think should be banned in a company.
Sure, the guy who kept touching her after she asked to stop should have and can probably be deemed and harassment and the man who grabbed her ass definitely did harass her.
But all the others? I mean the worse one appears to be one guy who called her at 4 in the morning once, sure that's inappropriate, but I wouldn't deem it an harassment.
It's sad that she got panic attacks from this.
One shouldn't feel bad while working, on the other hand however people should still be allowed to flirt; how else are you going to meet a companion?

At SpaceX, we're told we can change the world. I couldn't, however, stop getting sexually harassed. lioness.co/post/at-spacex-we-r

Grazie

I'm using neomutt to manage my emails since a few years.
I sync with my mailbox through mbsync running it every few minutes with a cron job.
The only annoying thing is that when I make some local changes these are not immediately propagated to the server but I have to wait for the next call of the cron job.
This is annoying if I move or delete some mails and switch off my computer immediately after because I will then have my local mailbox out of sync with the server.
Do you know a way to sync local changes with the server as soon as I perform them?
I'd like deleted mails to be marked as deleted on the server as soon as I delete them in mutt rather than waiting for the next mbsync activation.

Thank you very much.

Whatever happened to urban tribes?

I remember reading and hearing about the different tribes, music and trends in the 90's and 00's. But apparently nothing now.

Have we become more homogeneous as a society?

Is it not politically correct to spot patterns and sort into categories now?

Have we become so diverse and tolerant that we no longer even notice that people fall into different “tribes”?

Has politics superseded music and hobbies as the most conspicuous markers of tribe affiliation?

Public research is good for the development of new medicines. You probably imagined that already, but now a few people read a lot of technical stuff and made a list of drugs which were developed with public money. It's quite a few.
