I agree with the need to document instances. What we need is a good database that looks at various moderation properties and listing if the instance has or does not have a specific moderation feature. This could be used for instances to define what instances they federate with or not as well.
The other points I dont agree with so much. The fediverse is just any server that provides the ActivityPub standard. I dont see it as a walled kingdom or even as a discrete entity. Just a way for servers to talk to eachother.
Two benefits I see with Twitter federating:
1) Easier for Tweeters to leave Twitter for another instance
2) Greater reach and engagement ability to and from politicians.
@_lunawinters I loved Cory Doctorow's stories about Marcus Yallow (it starts with Little Brother, and there are a couple more after that.).
I also enjoyed the Rule of Four series.
I think the last good series I read was the Softwire. It was incredible, and the author had promised to make more but decided not to after IGN hired him. Still, the ending is good enough for me.
(Most of these stories I read in HS. I don't read many books anymore.)
@design_RG @freemo When I get back to my computer I might make you some via bots.tinysubversions.com. There are probably some bots out there for you, though.
Depressing how little response I get to posts at birdsite. No wonder I never enjoyed it much there.
Here [mastodon home instance] in an hour I have more interaction than there in a day, at least. And the quality, no comparison.
Keep cool, #fediverse 💓
@design_RG @neqone I hope they pick #Mastodon.
read about twitter aspiration to federate. BlueSky, pie in the sky? #xp

As a big advocate of the #fediverse to get out of the walled gardens like Facebook, and ironically Twitter, I think it'd do a lot of good for them to be involved in ActivityPub (the W3C standardized lingua franca of the federated social media platforms).…

@realcaseyrollins I was also in App.Net. Fucking Dalton Caldwell performed the most gross betrayal on a project and ecosystem I have ever seen. App.Net had a 280 characters limit from the start and it honestly was like Gab. if Gab angle had being first based around having a good API. It didn't failed because it didn't found users. Dalton just flipped out of nowhere on it and shut it down. App.Net also had some really great app ecosystem for a new project. And even a parallel site ecosystem. It was a showcase of what a good API can cause.

Matthew 22:37-39 is my mantra:
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
But Phillipians 4:4 is my favorite verse of all time:
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
