@0 I have a hard time imagining XMPP being safe to use in any way in a car.
@icedquinn They're mostly auto generated from .desktop files now so it's not such a big deal.
@freemo Oh gosh don't start that one.
IMO the whole abortion thing is just used to divide people into two groups to make marketing/campaigning/PR easier.
The board voted unanimously to post the following statement on the FSF website: While our primary mission is freedom for software users, we want to be clear, the FSF board unanimously condemns misogyny, racism, and other bigotry as well as defamation, intimidation, and unfair attacks on free thought and speech.
@freemo @pthenq1 @icedquinn @TruthAndFreedom@masthead.social IIRC they even have some vector-like notation for describing this.
@pthenq1 @freemo @icedquinn @TruthAndFreedom@masthead.social Sure but flue vaccines aren't made using completely untested technology.
There were armatures messing around with some of this on themselves a few years ago and all of the professional researchers were coming out and calling them crazy.
@pthenq1I don't think I ever disagreed with this? But I will continue to say that forcing anyone to take *any* drug is unacceptable (except in a hospital if a patient is unconscious and hasn't signed a DNR.) Many countries did that in the 20th century (in the US state I live we only stopped recently) with some pretty horrific results.
This case is particularly alarming because of:
1) the pretty extreme censorship around it and the related ideas
2) the extreme lack of testing
3) the way it has been turned into a political/PR partition (so 1-3 mean there's very little science involved and if there was it would be difficult to even attempt verifying.)
4) the companies manufacturing the drugs are absolved of liability (lawsuits etc.)
@0 I don't cross national borders often but IME they're not easy to sneak across.

Email mastodon+swiley@swiley.net (this makes all of my computers beep and turn on an indicator light and is always the fastest way to reach me.) I was on octodon a while ago but abandoned my account. I've never been a member of gab or parlor.
If you’d like to learn to program I would consider the SICP [1] more or less the peak of American CS pedagogy (at least as far as beginners go) along with “The Practice of Programming” once you get through that.
I play ukulele, I’m ok at reading music and decent at improv. I learned from Walter Piston’s “Harmony” and some of Adam Neely’s videos.
My main phone is a pine phone so if I don’t pick up when you call the battery is probably dead, the modem is probably dead, or I’m currently swearing at calls/pulseaudio/alsa. I’d strongly recommend sending an email instead.
Dispite what my web page says I’ve stopped uploading my scratch projects to GitHub once I started to understand the basics of collaboration with git. I was using the flamegraph as gamification/motivation but it doesn’t work as well with feature branch/squash merge workflows so I just keep most things on my VPS until I’m happy with publishing updates.
