Mastodon has been feeling kinda dead lately. Each week for the last few months I use it less and less. Why? I don't know. Perhaps the difficulty of finding engaging sub communities?

Anybody know people here who post regularly and are into:

* Effective Altruism
*
*
* in specially those who post about their projects
* such as
*
*
*

@zpartacoos I think it's likely due to the lack of curated content (which is arguably a good thing to prevent doom scrolling and the impact of "infinity pools" on our cognition).

I'll likely be releasing the results of a project I worked on this semester soon, depending on whether or not my advisor thinks it may be suitable for publication (it's a fairly efficient quantum inspired optimization algorithm).

Also, if you ever want to talk about nature inspired algorithms, or other ML/math/programming related work, just let me know! Most of what I post here are jokes for the fun of it, but I would rather discuss intellectually stimulating ideas instead xD

@zpartacoos I am a mathematician who is into #haskell and #effectivaaltruism. Although I strangely never toot about the second.

@zpartacoos I haven't searx'd how to find the right communities, but your hashtags are a good start. 😀

@zpartacoos I think I've seen @izaya post about Vulkan lately, and they post about programming often enough. my follow list has some other folks you may find interesting, though they may not exactly intersect your list.

@zpartacoos You should follow me because I post the exact opposite of all those things.

@zpartacoos I'm interested in programming and am doing some standards work and am coding in Rust. I have a maths degree, but spent 39 years in software. I'm a charity trustee. I am looking to do some teaching in my local university.
