@trevorflowers packaging in npm-world, in general, is bizarre. they make it too easy to upload packages. but then they also have a website for their package with one 5 line module.
It's nice that they took time to recognize principal contributors to the discovery

@geckzilla what's a "phang"?
I've settled on this version of NGC7496 as the prettiest way to combine JWST and HST. I think this has a "natural" look to it. Best used as simply as eye candy. #phangs https://flic.kr/p/2nyVKv5

I'm actually excited to give Github Copilot a shot sometime soon. One aspect of it which I hadn't realized is that it can potentially help you with coding conventions and style in a new programming language or new project, which is something you can benefit from no matter how "experienced" you are.

@Amikke it is a different situation from how most public bathrooms work now. there are norms in those situations. they are different in gender-neutral bathrooms, but not everyone has been in gender-neutral public bathrooms before. I'm not saying you have to set up a commission, but explicitly saying "guys, close the door to the stall even if you're just peeing" or "always raise the toilet seat before you pee" is something you should do, even if most guys would work that out on their own. not to mention, people police traditionally gendered spaces pretty severely -- that's not just the flip of a switch to change, but takes a process, even if it's a relatively short one.
as far as sexual misconduct, it still happens in "civilised society". as a relatively obscured space (i.e., closed doors, not visible to passers-by), bathrooms are places where sex-offenders are more likely to make their moves. women in particular are justified in not wanting to be in situations where they could encounter such people, like if they just need to pee, but it's in a place with less traffic -> more chance you're alone with a potential creep.
@mc I rarely use -u because I like the unset-is-empty behavior. you learn to think thru the what-ifs on that and add in the guards where you need em.. also test test test
