@WiredForFlight @User47 @NPR Well, I live here, lol. But I'm 30+ miles from the shore and over 100 feet ASL, so I'm not too worried about it for my lifetime.
But I'd still prefer our government take it seriously instead of playing jackass culture war games.
@web3isgreat Wait, but did they charge him for writing the code or for running the service? Because that's a pretty big distinction.
And yet our leaders seem to be trying to pick a fight with such pointless moves as banning a video-sharing app.
@ZachWeinersmith Because it's hard, it takes years, and most of us can barely pay the mortgage with regular art so we just don't have the bandwidth to make a big swing.
Fuck yes! ATC funding FTW.
@mentallyalex@beige.party I do know people who have done it and it is very chill and controlled and yes, you'd probably love it.
Only downside is that it takes some skill to maintain orientation, so at first you'll have a pro guy in there basically supporting you and holding you steady, but it's not like real skydiving where you have to strap yourself to this person.
@Av8rdan Nice! I'm under the approach path for my local international airport too, but a bit farther out (they drop their landing gear over me).
However, the bravo for that airport ends at 700 feet over my head, giving way to the delta of the local field I fly out of. So, because of that bravo overhang, the traffic pattern usually goes the other way, but sometimes tower will tell them to take an opposite-handed "low pass", and then I get small craft overflying my house at 5-600 feet for a while.
Today, there was some kind of cool-looking twin-engine taking that course.
@dbsalk That's certainly possible. But this one felt like a betrayal because it was the only non-express line open and the lady and I had previously exchanged "doesn't this suck" glances while waiting.
I don't understand how some of these people survive everyday life.
Do you really not understand how a checkout counter works, middle-aged-white-lady? Why are you putting your card in the reader before the cashier has even rung up all your items? Why are you taking your soda off the belt? Why, when you realize you didn't pay for your soda, did you then pay for it in cash and wait for your change? Have you literally never bought anything before, or are you incapable of considering how your actions might affect others, or are you incapable of thinking more than three seconds ahead of the current moment?
How do these people survive everyday life if they can't even manage basic social awareness in one of the most common retail settings on the planet?

I spoke with two anti-Zionist Jewish supporters of the pro-Palestine protests at #UTAustin, including one who got arrested on April 29. Read it at from Deceleration here:

@briankrebs Yep. In my experience, AI is almost never a one-stop solution. It's great at enhancing many processes and making them more efficient, but there are exceedingly few jobs it can perform end-to-end.
@brody Been considering this same move more and more lately...
@fivetonsflax @Wolven It's not eugenics, it's natural selection.
These people live in an educated society that has volumes of data about how dangerous their life choices are and yet they choose, of their own free will, the dangerous choice.
Why should that bother us?
