Dogs of Wall Street mold a collapse
More to the haves
More poor, more more.
Watchdogs silent
To speak breaks the flow,
Silence is golden, more, more.
A madman spews his mad words
Half for, half-cocked
The other half gets more, more.
Bad bug is loose, what to do?
Keep it going, more, more.
Millions dead, then more, and more.
Now the dogs are out
Now they bark, no more, no more
Now lightning and comfortable thunder.
Dogs of Wall Street mold a collapse
Trillions to the haves
More poor, more more.
Watchdogs silent
To speak breaks the flow,
Silence is golden. More, more.
A madman spouts mad talk
Half for, half against
The other half gets more, more.
A bug is loose, what to do?
Keep it going, more, more.
Millions dead, more, more.
Now the dogs are out
Shouting no more, no more
Finally the comfortable thunder.

A million people just died in the US who didn’t need to die because authorities withheld information about the effectiveness of respirators and mislead everyone into doing risky, dangerous things that killed them.
What happens next?
It’s simple, it seems, the Golden Rule
Understood by all, even a fool
But not so fast, think this through
You don’t want to be the fool, too
There’s more to the story, even in its simplest
Imagine reciprocation with a devoted masochist.

Retro SciFi of the Week…
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)
Released during the height of MacCarthyism when many in Hollywood and government had lost their jobs and half the country was in a furor trying to find “subversives” under every rock, this film reflected the popular mood during that time. However, the other half of the country was appalled at the witch hunters for trampling on civil rights.
It’s uncertain whether the film was advocating for the witch hunt or mocking it. The filmmakers continued to deny that it was anything more than a thriller science fiction flim.
Two Democratic bureaucrats remove five Republican candidates (who did nothing wrong) from the primary ballot for governor in Michigan.
The US used to be a democracy.
A viewing tip for those of you who have not seen it before...
Make sure you are not in a hurry when you watch it. This film progresses very slowly. There are no real action sequences or anything like that. If you're used to seeing modern scifi with lots of space battles and rapid cuts, you'll really need to slow down for this one. It's deliberate and pensive. Just think of it as meditation or something, and take your time.
p.s. - In case you haven't heard, this is the greatest science fiction film ever made.
Gravity is not a force, it's a warping of spacetime (mostly a warping of time). It's actually a correlation of those (as explained by general relativity), but it's uncertain which causes which, or if there is another variable that causes each of those.
Here are a couple of videos that do a decent job of explaining how the warping of time makes space "flow" into a massive object.
How does gravity warp the flow of time?

I wrote that quote from memory...
The exact quote was, "Well HAL, I'll be damned if I can find anything wrong with it."
Also, that pic I found was not from that scene when Bowman said that line, it's from the scene when HAL was doing the crew psych evaluations.

Please say a prayer for the parents, family and friends of all of the children who have died from COVID-19 in the US and around the world.
(So far, 1,062 children have died from COVID-19 in the US;
