Seems like I really have to install #ArcGIS to follow this #GIS course... sigh.
I don't have a windows computer or a powerful enough computer to run arcgis on a VM, so: do you know of a cheap service to rent some #Windows VM space for a few months?

I see. They do only censor that content if viewed from China though, don't they? I mean, they'd censor content in any nation that force them by law to do so, isn't it the case?

@pcrock No yeah, maybe I wrote it bad, QGIS works very well, it's ArcGIS that is basically impossible to install.

So I can't really follow my GIS lessons and I can't compare the two... I'm learning QGIS with online tutorial, so far it's been a great experience!

Unfortunately I'm not experienced enough to make a case with my prof about using QGIS... hell, I can't even use it, as it won't install on debian and my pcs are not good enough for Windows VMs to run

#GIS experts: do you have strong opinions on what's better between ArcGis and #QGIS?
I know we are all #FOSS lovers here, but my gis professor will only use arcgis and I'd like to understand how sour is this pill I should swallow 😄
