@Wetrix Also, but for every community it's a very easy and powerful tool. I know a lot of non-gaming communities on discord

@Wetrix not the first time I hear about lack of privacy on discord... which is too bad, because I can't think of anything that can replace it, at the moment

@sexybiggetje@mastodon.social that's the only reason, you reckon? It makes sense, that is their business model after all

@krivicydocky Yeah I'm looking at the stats.. you had very few cases, less then 600, but 50 just in the past day. I hope it doesn't rise this fast... keep it up. What are you doing to spend the time in lockdown?

@krivicydocky yeah here in Italy most of the country is under lockdown... a lot of people I know got the virus, with only one dead so far.
How are things in Mongolia? I don't know much about the place, are you in lockdown in Ulanbaator?

@krivicydocky Nice, going to Mongolia is one of my dreams... some day

@krivicydocky start with a guide, if you still have doubt you can use mastodon itself to ask everyone!

I don't understand, why do many server based services, like instagram or snapchat, do not have a full browser compatibility? I don't think it should take them a lot of time to write a web front end, would it?

I think philosophy of science should be mandatory for every science field.
Seems to me like many scientists forget the importance of replicability when they put in the papers stuff like "this population of orchid was isolated in Sicily", or "in Belgium", I even find places that do not exist, and they keep the raw data for themselves so that I can't reproduce the analysis.

Some morning I hate scientists. There sure is a lot to fix in the structure

@valleyforge Is the mail mandatory now?
Yeah, I remember the times, you could open it with Tor without any issue...

@valleyforge which sucks, IMO. I haven't noticed much in SO, but in reddit I don't like where this is going

Oftentimes I have no clue what the people are talking about, and now in this covid times is so hard to get a grip on what the mainstream topics of conversation are, as I have no mainstream social and are, internet-wise, a bit on the weird side in my country.

So I thought: how can I check what the most trending topics of conversation are?

so far I thought about checking google searches for my country and see what keywords had a spike in the past 2-3 weeks, or get some new rss feed.

Anyone had the same problem and solve it without much effort?

@chimicredodiessere L'unica alternativa decente (anzi, migliore) che ho usato io è stata nextcloud... per il resto non ho trovato nulla

Sometimes you wake up in the morning and for some reason the mind goes to when Caesar is presented with Pompey's head by Tolomeus.
And you shear some tears, not only because well, they had a strong bond after all, but also because you look around and can find no man who is worth even a foot of either the guys.

@jasper I always enjoy Nathanology's videos! I think the best one is the history of science one

@sexybiggetje@mastodon.social How did you do that?

@xosem mh, sorry, debian user but not KDE. I can ony say I use retext and like it for markdown... there used to be a nice geany plugin too, not sure if it works anymore tho

@kambing I see what you mean. I'll just ignore it, I don't want to get into a useless fight.

Just, as we are in the topic, would be nice to take into consideration that also I may feel harmed, and that jumping to conclusion and giving me blame and accusing me for a silly, innocent comment could make me feel bad and sad for most of my day and more.
Luckily, I'm stable enough not to care, but the next shy, emotionally weak person may not be. Regardless of the sex or gender, which was for me totally out of the blue.

I can give others understanding, I'd like to have it in return, hope if you are here to pacify things can understand that
