Molly and I are trying to do a little work before bedtime 😺 Taught school today and people seem to have forgotten that the virus is dangerous. My students just told me that I’m the only teacher to tell them to socially distance?! Hope they are exaggerating! I made them move🙀

Vet visit went well. His doc thinks he has OCD/Anxiety issues which is causing the constant leg licking. He will go on kitty Prozac to see if that helps. Otherwise nothing major of note! ❤️😻

* Pinafore Client for Fediverse now has a Forum *

A new Pinafore client discussions Forum is now online at Qoto's Discourse Forums

We now have a new sub-forum, dedicated to the powerful and fast Pinafore client for Fediverse instances -- Mastodon, Glitch-Social, Pleroma are all supported.

I am a big fan of Pinafore, since first trying it. It is a popular client with power users, as it is FAST and Light, plus has elegant design, clean UI and many nice features.

Not only we have the new forum, but I have just collected a topic we discussed in our local feed - qoto.org/@design_RG/1043221509 -- and made it into a prettier, formatted and in-line illustrated page.

The way a good manual page could be; and there's a need, the documentation available is very limited; so I plan to add to it.

** Assigning Colour Themes to Allow easy Multi-Instances use in Pinafore Client. **

That is the Topic of today's Blog -- write.tedomum.net/rgx/pinafore.

*Topic can also be seen at the Pinafore Discourse Forum* -- discourse.qoto.org/t/assigning

See Snapshot for Release Announcement in a GlitchSocial instance.

June's Patch Tuesday came overnight and was very quickly distributed.

I woke up in the morning, and my sleeping mode laptop was awaiting, to return to our work. But -- something had happened.

Browser windows (3) had been closed, and the maybe 80 or so tabs along with them. I have many tabs open for reference and research, in ongoing projects, etc. Plus various sites I am present and commenting thru the day.

The bad part really is that my browser Cookies seem to have zapped and I got logged out everywhere. Including Reddit, where I can't seen to get back in now, argh. (poor password recovery there, doesn't seem to work to send the required recovery email).

So -- be prepared, as it seems this pack has High Priority for installation.

Some fun being had at the FediBlock brigade hangout. Kyzh, who would ban anything with a pulse of a faint breath, declares that Husky fediverse client is a national socialist piece of software. Because, the author chose not to lock out any instances the users might want to connect to.

Thanks to P for point it out, link in the folded quote.

* Cool Ideas we see out there. *

Earlier today I visited Tom's instance, kafuka.me/ , and noticed an interesting feature -- that Boosted posts were shown in their Local feed.

Remarkable, I had never seen that until now; later on, mentioned it to Koyu, at koyu.space/ . And Tom confirmed it's an Admin panel option in GlitchSocial.

Koyu being on the cutting edge, promptly offered if I wanted the feature enabled; I made some comments and left the decision to her.

Who quickly implemented it, see screenshot # 3 -- of the Local Feed.

Many thanks -- I think this feature is a great tool for smaller instances, helping add dynamism and Content Discovery. Well done, friends.

Not only we have the new forum, but I have just collected a topic we discussed here, earlier today in our local feed -- and made it into a prettier, formatted and in-line illustrated page.

The way a good manual page could be; and there's a need, the documentation available is very limited; so I plan to add to it.

First Topic, brand new Forum.

* Assigning Colour Themes to Allow easy Multi-Instances use in Pinafore Client *

Please visit : discourse.qoto.org/t/assigning

The Forum is publicly Visible (anyone can read) and open to new user registrations if you want to comment, ask questions about Pinafore or have any suggestions to the Author. We will be sure to pass those along, and Nolan is very good with supporting, promptly responding when I had something to ask.

Many Thanks to Nolan Lawson (@nolan) and Dr. Freeman (@freemo).
Special thanks to Coralie @globcoco for inspiring this inaugural topic.

We now have a brand new sub-forum, dedicated to the powerful and fast Pinafore client for Fediverse.

I am a big fan of Pinafore, since first trying it six months ago. It is a popular client with power users, as it is FAST and Light, plus has elegant design, clean UI and many nice features.

Nolan Lawson is the author of Pinafore, and I have told him many times how I enjoy it.

As part of Fandom, I thought we could do more to support Great Software, and requested a new Project Forum for Pinafore here at our Discourse Forum. Our Qoto.org admin graciously agreed and created it, and it's now opening for business.

As a matter of fact, an Introductory post was needed, so here we are. :smileycat:

* Selecting Colour Themes for our various instances in the Pinafore Client for Fediverse *

@globcoco

>> The same I used at mamot.
>> I think that if I'm using the same pages and layout I might confuse myself but I love the easy set up.

* Go into Settings and select one of the instances you have configured (hint -- double click on the Star in the right, and it's a ONE click switch, instantaneous).

* Done that? Now go into Settings --> General Settings.

* Slide to the Bottom of the page.

* and select one of the many Themes - Light or Dark, whichever you prefer.

* that theme becomes the Default for the current instance, and by selecting different ones, we can tell we are in one place or another.

There's lots of choices and the client is really a delight to use.

Client is Tops.
