I started here that same week, brought on by a BBC article talking about all the Indian users deserting twitter to this new mastodon network. Woot? Bing'd it.

Found https://joinmastodon.org, and from their list Qoto seemed the best fit for me.

So glad I got here and not in some crazy instance, either too big, too weird or too porny for me.

If I has started at the Mothership (masto social, the big one), I probably wouldn't have lasted 2 days or so.

Still find it hard there, although finally got my account launched - went to ask Gargron something.

Tweaking things is good, I do get a thrill when I can shave off Bytes from my images by selecting the formats, maybe crop a bit more. Sometimes it's .png that does best, others .jpeg is tighter.

And then I remember the next day that people are really wasting most of the bandwidth of the net with videos, argh.

But I like to do my best, tight, clean, as small as possible.

I would suggest breaking it up into sequential posts, possibly?

I like the simplicity of write.freely.

If you like more controls and lots of tools and options, maybe WordPress?

There's lots of things that have changed, many of the img align tags have been deprecated too.

You do have a lot of inline Video boxes, and maybe could break the post into two or three pages - they will load faster and smoother without so many calls to YT at once.

Header at the top of the page, I would lighten the size down a notch, possibly?

Do you need to use all that armament to prep a post? I only use #MarkDown commands, and it results in some nice pages.

Manually size the images to my liking, and replace them if they look wrong size.
