@realcaseyrollins do you repost things? Older posts brought back? I don't recall seeing these.

@realcaseyrollins
The coming year will be a hard one with so much yelling and low ball during the election in the US. Not fun, and then the expectative of what happens.

@realcaseyrollins I was so glad to have found an online British TV service that would allow me to watch the BBC channels again (used to via VPN, catching up on iPlayer, and downloading programmes to keep and watch later.)

But since I got into mastodon and the fediverse, that has absorbed all my spare time, and even some more. I am enjoying it a lot, and like seeing long dormant ideas coming to life.

The TV service I subscribed to, IPTV, haven't used it much at all.

@penguin42 The Continent does have space, some of it is desert or almost desert in the Sahel and Sahara regions; but there's lots of land still.

The climate is benign, compared to very northern places. But the growth there will be hard on people, resources and much more.

The extremely divided geography, with so many small countries, sometimes different official languages, besides tribal ancestries, doesn't help create a strong local education campaign.

@realcaseyrollins That sounds like Good News to me, lol...

No cable or antenna, TV here is only to display local film and documentaries collection.

@rvlobato Parece um bom livro, boa leitura e boa viagem, Ronaldo. 👍

@penguin42 Yes indeed - people don't take kindly to being told what to do.

There needs to be conscience building of the impact on the planet and everyone's life styles. Asia still has the largest population by far, and it seems to be predicted to grow a little more.

But Africa stands out for the huge population expansion.

@realcaseyrollins @freemo Fedilab Lite has same crimped limit, see screenshot.

Like my Dark mode and Swift keyboard on it too.

@realcaseyrollins they are really lovely, although there are downsides people might not mention.

Sofá destruction for example, lol.

@realcaseyrollins No, @freemo hasn't got around to it yet -- he knows, and will do it. But I am not sure how much of a pain is involved.

A config file edit and service reload would be easy. Likely not the case, since he hasn't done it yet.

Might involved some more elaborate edits and he's saving for when a patch to serve is being applied.

Been waiting for over a month, and really like Pinafore -- want it for main client. But 500 chars crimps my style severely.

Reason for this thread... 😜

@freemo Wonderful photo, thanks for sharing. Saved for my Backgrouns folder; will make a nice mastodon profile background, cropped at 1500x500p.

Really nice, with these ice needles growing up, great photo.

We had tons of frosty morning already here in Canada (even in my southern location).

@freemo @shibaprasad Just found at another instance.

Real scarcity will be deadly. Climate Wars is a book by Gwynn Dwyer that covers possible future resource conflicts.

@shibaprasad I have added a few new nice Add-ons to Waterfox and am happy with them.

Theme for an upcoming new blog post?

Yeah, adding to the list on my clipboard (the real world, paper sheet variety one; keep two handy around my work area to jot reminders of ideas and to dos, etc.)

Snapshot for the article now ready!

@shibaprasad Awesome!!

I thought you would see the advantage on the screenshot. Way to go!

*Memo to Sys Admins everywhere :*

Please configure the Max Toot Characters allowed to match your instances custom number, if you have it.

Active users enjoying the power and speed of the Pinafore client ( pinafore.social, free. Awesome. Try it out!).

Really a PAIN in the butt to chop my posts down at 500 chars, arghhhhhh.

Pretty please, boss? Need it.... :sad_cat:

@freemo @shibaprasad Self-regulation by an educated population is the best approach, on my Liberal, Socialist view.

"Let them crash and burn, that'll teach them" right wing extremism is neither humane not a solution.

@shibaprasad Looks very nice, great tast in Browser!!! :smo_mario:

I took one just now, showing my own Waterfox and the many tabs in use. Plus one thing I wanted to suggest you.

I learned years ago that I love placing the Taskbar at the LEFT side (or Right side) of the screen, instead of default, bottom edge.

Rationale? It frees up some much needed VERTICAL pixels, for reading, which are at a premium with the widescreens we are forced to use those days; not much option for new ones in 3 x 4.
