Back on topic -- Friendica is interesting; I have an account but used it very little. Should to a more in-depth test and report on it.

Definitely has some nice features :

- enhanced text formatting, with GUI controls on editor.
- Edit, anytime you want, any of your old posts.
- images can be attached to all posts.

And it federates easily - - my alt is @rgx@nerdica.net

nerdica is a nice node on the Friendica network.

Best yet -- there's a Try instance. https://tryfriendica.de/

Accounts there will autodelete in one week, so you don't waste any space or resources. Like it? get a real instance account. Don't like it? just forget it and it goes away soon.

@globcoco They do seem to change things ocasionally, and it's definitely Mobile optimized.

We desktop, PC, laptop users are left with big wasted spaces around. But they do have some good features and some excellent content in some cases (corporate and professional media, big publishers).

The core idea is simple -- to allow a user to post Long Text, while collapsing it for display in the various timelines. For aesthetic reasons, as it will look better in a crowded TL listing.
