I don't grasp this flow diagram fully though. Does this mean every post of yours goes through Pocket? Or is this only for some bookmarks/things you quote from websites or your feed reader etc.? What does the Toot Bookmarklet do (I haven't come across it before)?
I think the cross-posting blasphemy mostly bothers people when it's done in a "set it and forget it" way, where the person doesn't interact with the platform other than in this automated form. (There are people now who'd take issue with any cross-posting at all, but I don't think they're a majority.)
So I'm watching the 1976 "the boy in the plastic bubble" and it got me thinking.. there is a scene where he says hje doesnt take showers and doesnt smell because there are no germs...
So if people who are in sterile tooms all their life are truely germ free... that must mean all sorts of things... no BO, you never smell, do you even need to brush your teeth, you wouldnt get plaque or anything if there are no germs to consume the food on your teeth... Does it also mean they have no gut bacteria..
and aside from all those dise effects, which im curious about... how do you even steralize a human in the first place, even if they are born that way and go in from birth, surely your born with bacteria on you.. how do you steralize a human and if you cant how do they not die from this...
Ah, so this is what it's called. I have exactly the one they show in the main picture (fingers of the hand), but none other afaik. I remember finding this out sometime when I was in school (I have no idea how or why), and being surprised that the other kids couldn't do it.

The algorithm is supposed to make sure that two boosts of the same post are at least 40 posts apart in the feed. The idea is that if you miss one of the boosts you should still be able to see the other ones.
But 40 is too small a limit, and it would be best if we could customize it (including just not showing it multiple times at all, like you said).

Hi! I want to boost this because I agree very much with the content, but unfortunately it doesn't have a text description for the image, so it isn't accessibility-friendly.
Could you please make sure to add those the next time you post an image, so it's screen reader friendly and more accessible?

I am and I do. It sometimes helps me not get overwhelmed (by focusing on the podcast instead of messy IRL stuff), and sometimes it contributes to the overwhelm (when I get too into it and don't give myself time to process things).

It depends on the individual and how they see things (i.e. what kinda support they derive from it), but I can give my perspective: a lot of the value of such objects for me is the fact that they're constant parts of the class that I've already seen and mapped out in my brain. So they're mentally a comfortable place to retreat to.
Practically, that means that - at least from the students' perspective, i.e. around the time she's there in the room - this additional boom box or whatever object should also be a constant in the room. That'll help the chances of it being beneficial to them.
Revised document attached. Removed Metatext and replaced it with Mastoot per someone's suggestion. :-)
Not a desktop application per se, but InvenTree can be run from Docker (https://docs.inventree.org/en/latest/start/docker/) and seems to have pretty positive reviews (https://www.libhunt.com/r/InvenTree#repo-reviews).
(I haven't used it, just looked around on LibHunt and this seems the most promising option there.)

It's great when it comes to actual programming, can make long debugging sessions fly by in that focused state.
But it can also lead to a lot of "yak shaving" when it comes to the tools and the environment around it. I've lost unreasonable amounts of time to "X is supposed to work with Y config, I can't let go of this without figuring out why it isn't!"
Often the "solution" is to just accept it doesn't make sense, shrug, and move on... but that feels so yucky!

In my experience, adding a reply can:
(a) add a new perspective to the chat, which often injects life into the conversation and keeps it from getting stale.
(b) articulate something that one of those already talking wanted to say, but couldn't manage to express.
We can't predict everyone's expectations about their threads, but on the whole I'd say it's a positive to leave a reply.
One caveat is that it helps a lot if we match the tone of their conversation in the reply i.e. if they're talking in short bursts of casual posts, it's better to do the same in one's own reply too, instead of adding long nuanced replies (and vice versa). That helps make it feel like less of a random intrusion.
Me in class: “Looks like no one managed to finish the reading, that’s on me, clearly I assigned too much today. Let’s discuss [X] instead.”

It’s really powerful for students when the role model at the front of the classroom takes responsibility & shows imperfection. The more I #Teach the more I realize showing weakness teaches humaneness & combats impostor syndrome, & is one of the things my students most often say they loved when a course is over. #teaching #academidon #histadon
Is there any #OpenSource #desktop application to manage equipments/parts catalog?
I want to find any equipment/parts fast enough. Please boost so that I can get more suggestions.

I did not realize Asbestos was so ubiquitous in so many materials! I'd assumed it was just a roofing material that was going out of vogue, but it seems it's going to be around in many forms for a while.
