My reattempt at the Aleister Crowley quote. A few notable mistakes but considering i haven't practiced in months id say its a lot better than i expected. I clearly need to get back t practicing though as the writing looks a bit strained.

God damnit. I got half way through writing this long quote and someone distracted me and i screwed up. I hate when this happens!!! It was looking pretty nice to... Oh well gonna start over.

I have switched the style on my lowercase k and with that suddenly my (Italian Hand variant) finally looks nice. No matter what i did i never could get the style of the k to look right using its normal form.

I found my first attempt at doing a caroligian script from years ago. The words at the time were just random unrelated practice words, i wasnt even trying to form a sentence. Funnily enough it turns out to be rather relevant and true anyway these many years later.

Just did a rather intense repair job on 80 some year old fountain pen with adjustable nib. I can probably get close to 1k now for this thing if i ever wanted to sell.

I figured soldering the little tabs on might work better than glue... this is my 4th try but its working.

A demo I did a while back showing what it looks like when I write in Copperplate Calligraphy form.

My latest pen is a wet-noodle (extremely flexible) 100+ year old fountain pen. She writes beautifully and is a Waterman's 42 1/2 (the creator of the fountain pen). Moreover she is a safety pen, meaning the nib retracts into the barrel before you put the cap on. There arent too many of these floating around after over 100 years!

An antique I just purchased. It is a page from a handwritten bible from 1480 (yes, 541 years old). It is in latin, with ornate capitals, and amazingly the red is still very vibrant and the gold gilding on the Q very much in tact.

For those interested it is the Book of Hours psalms.

I decided to take some extremely high resolution scans before sealing it in some acrylic and prepare it to be framed. Will put it on my wall tomorrow.

I have an illuminated text from 1480 AD arriving sometime next week and I'm kinda excited (picture of the actual item I'll be getting attached).

For this weeks I am going to do a groups addition.

So its been about a month since the QOTO Moderated Groups Server came online at groups.qoto.org. It adds group capability to the fediverse with an owner capable of moderating membership in the group unlike previous group servers which were completely unmoderated and open.

We have had some amazing groups form and overall the server seems to be the most popular on the fediverse, I'm seeing more activity than the open-group servers which is great!

As such I wanted to share a list of a few groups I know of so far in case anyone is looking for a group to follow. Just follow the group as you would a user and you will be in the group and receive group posts in your timeline!
