@freemo Hit it with a hammer. If it shatters into a million pieces, it was priceless.

So some time back I was gifted with a Rolex from an investor friend who I managed to make a lot of money for. I never wear it, only time I do is if I'm wearing a tuxedo which is rather rare. Its kind of a wasted gift on me especially because I hear they can be rather valuable. I wonder what mine might be worth.

Along with bribes and all other normal things you totally want to tell the government

@dsfgs

Despite the fact that my users didnt seem to care too much about cloudflare in the past i will say its a service i myself like to avoid using when at all possible. So if we can get cloudflare out of the picture and keep the tickers going id personally find that to be preferable.

Keyoxide achieves the same result as keybase but is open and distributed. You store your proofs in your pgp key as metadata itself and upload it to a keyserver. So anyone with a copy of your public key, which they can always fetch from a keyserver, can verify your identity. Keyoxide is mostly just a gui tool/webapp to make it easy to display and verify someones proofs.

@underlap

Im not sire what state of the art happens to be, but keyoxide is my personal favorite approach. There is of course keybase as well.

@dsfgs

I will likely be back around good internet in a day or two if all goes well. Can you remind me then.
@miyon is the ticker maker i think.

It was quite some time ago we voted about the default theme, pretty sure cloudflare was known at the time of the vote as i had mentioned it when i first put the theme together. I need to search for the vote for and verify.

So apparently on average i get one new follower for every two toots i make. Not bad turn over id say.

This is not photoshopped it is 100% real.

Progress in human space flight fell off a cliff after the Apollo missions.

The accomplishments of the Apollo program are even more amazing when you consider that we went to the moon while simultaneously fighting a major overseas proxy war against the Chinese and fighting among ourselves here in the US over civil rights, women's liberation, and many other things.

Then Nixon resigned, while the country fell into massive crime and corruption and advancement in human spaceflight stalled.

It may be 66 years before we even return to moon again.

If you want to understand how much of a failure that is, watch 2001: A Space Odyssey. In the 60s, that's where people genuinely thought we'd be by the year 2001 -- 20 years ago. Instead we've been stuck in low-Earth orbit for 50+ years.

@masstransitkrow

Thats fine. Though I'm not sure youll effect much of anything. Spinning up email servers as you pointed out is trivial, its just as trivial to spin one up with DKIM enabled as it is to spin one up with it disabled. So not sure youll accomplish anything useful.

@stux

@mushambo I have been slowly developing a MUD in my freetime. It uses plain old telnet as a MUD should but it actually uses NCURSES over telnet so even though you dont need any special software you get a whole text-based GUI out of it.

@masstransitkrow

Yes it is, and its also just as trivial to give each one you spin up a DKIM, so by verifying that you arent getting any extra protection if the email must be verified.

The main benefit of DKIM is email spoofing, where someone sends out emails without any intention of being able to receive replies since they dont actually own the domain, they just pretend to.

Therefore if an email must be verified before you can use an account then verifying DKIM doesnt offer your server any additional protection.

@stux

@Elfie
I never said anything even remotely close to what your claiming. The only thing i told you over and over is that i dont care about your opinion and it would be a waste of time if i tried to talk to you because you have the mental capabilities and maturity of a toddler.

You responded to that by proving me right and claiming that by not engaging with you i must therefore think its ok to kill people. You really are a special kind of moron and everytime you speak you just prove to me you have less and less value as a human being.
