@lowqualityfacts

Sorry as I pointed out before I unfollow people who post ads as I go to great lengths to keep them out of my feed and there is no reasonable way to prevent it from people I follow.

Best of luck to you, if you decide to change your policy on this let me know and I am always happy to refollow.

No hard feelings though, reach out if you ever need anything.

Just a reminder, that in the UK ideas, thoughts, and knowledge is illegal. I guess it's the logical next step once you make guns illegal. All about preventing that harm right?

@ambihelical

How is Trump's 80 billion tariff "another order of magnitude" compared to the already existing ~600 billion in tariffs already levied against china?

@gwynnion

@ambihelical

This is literally just a single tariff increase across a ton of china tariffs int he 301.

The total 301 tariff list on china covers about 600 billion, this particular increase was only 18 billion out of that.

Yea I'd call that pretty major.

> haven't been used as a major form of trade control since the 19th century

Under Biden:

"China is also flooding global markets with artificially low-priced exports. In response to China’s unfair trade practices and to counteract the resulting harms, today, President Biden is directing his Trade Representative to increase tariffs under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 on $18 billion of imports from China to protect American workers and businesses."

We just going to ignore the fact that Biden literally increased the exact same tariffs earlier this year?

@realcaseyrollins

What do you mean, they have signed several over the years? Doyou mean simply that they keep breaking them once they sign them?

Police have "Black Ops Sites" where they take prisoners to be tortured.

Here is an article from 2015 reporting on the existence of such sites with thousands of detainees, american citizens:

Here is a video from 2023 of a cop threatening to take someone to a black ops site in Florida if they dont behave:

While I agree the problem is systemic, not int he way you state. The issue here is not that people can be irresponsible with data and that data may relate to you. The issue is that you dont have a fundamental right to anonymity in any situation with law. Simply enshrining a fundamental right to anonymity will go a long way to address the problem as I would have a right to be able to use any service without the need of providing any identifying information to begin with.

@KimPerales

This unfairly targets the people doing the buying rather than the people selling their vote.

Instead of "Musk & other wealthy ppl bought the election" I prefer "The general population sold their vote to the highest bidder, basing their vote on who had the prettiest ad."

We need to stop blaming the rich, they can only manipulate us if we sell ourselves to begin with. They have no power but the power we give them.

More importantly blaming the rich isnt something we can solve without making things worse, where not letting the rich being able to buy us **is** something everyone can solve right now without requiring any changes.

Everyone always wants to blame someone else, its never them or their group that is the problem, and THAT is the problem.

Important PSA:

Being a pacifist doesn't mean you'll never throw a punch.

It means you'll never throw the first punch.

You should always do your best to throw the last punch, pacifist or not.

@Raccoon

Yea if thats an important thing to you that seems like a reasonable way to respond.

@profcarroll

Thats a lot of words for "Trump won fair and square".. I mean I dont like the guy, but he won, and had a surprisingly high turnout of female voters contrary to what everyone claimed.
