@nicksortor

Wait, people are upset now that Amazon is posting a factually accurate breakdown of taxes and tarrifs... also, how would you even give a break down on inflation, i mean i guess if they listed the cost in "2000 dollars", but if anything that would make it look like inflation is less since it would show "you are paying $1 in 2000 dollars for this $10 piece of bread" which isnt actually telling you what the cost would be in 2000, only that $1 has has 1/10th the buying power, which i doubt anyone would really even understand.

@chris

Does this have on the list "remove the right to due process or a court hearing from people he deems"? That, and perhaps his statements about explicitly intending to use it on citizens are the only things that matter on such a list.

@bonifartius @tetrislife @lohang

I agree, the issue isnt the blocking, its the lies and gossip and rumors without evidence that perpetuate that this blocking is used to fuel.

@tetrislife @bonifartius @lohang

I have literally gotten a personal block (and on rare occasions an instance block) specifically for politely requesting evidence.. The toxicity can at times really be out of control.

unlisted works because of the push nature of standard (AP). Other servers can always pull the post and show it, but that would be expensive to constantly poll servers. so they rely on pushes. Since unlisted never pushes to peer servers except in the case of indivuals that follow they dont generally get out to the fediverse.

That said they arent a security thing, it can be easily circumvented.

Writing High Quality, Well Scoped, Commits
In modern software projects, a clean Git history is more than just an aesthetic choice – it is a cornerstone of maintainable, collaborative development. Practitioners across the industry (from Linux kernel maintainers to Google’s Angular team) advocate for atomic commits: each commit being a focused, self-contained change that can stand on its own.
This article outlines widely accepted conventions and best practices for writing such commits in a language-agnostic context, drawing on official guidelines and community consensus.

@garyackerman **NOT** an Albert Einstein quote. What he said was:

> It can scarcely be denied that the supreme goal of all theory is to make the irreducible basic elements as simple and as few as possible without having to surrender the adequate representation of a single datum of experience.

Putin's agent in the White House, Donald Trump, demands nothing from Russia, but offers Putin more than 20% of Ukraine as a gift for invading Ukraine and bombing to oblivion European cities in Ukraine.

While I would not approve of such a registry for its potential for abuse, and least of all under a trump administration, I dont think there is anything to indicate RFK's intent is to eliminate autistic people. His intent is to try to eliminate vaccines, which is equally as idiotic, but when the left needs to frame everything as a nazi extermination camp even when that is obviously not the intent, all it does is weaken any future argument we make.

This kind of way of arguing valid points, but in really idiotic ways is exactly why the right won.

@cwebber By the way are you still int he W3C? I'm an AC rep in the W3C now so just wondering.

@cwebber Ahhh ok fair. I will have to try it. So just plain yogurt or is that a kind of sauce I should look up? Sounds healthy and i might like it thanks.

@wjmaggos

Anyone can literally write an algorithm... yes they exist to serve you. Same with AI.

That said, they also can serve others, if other people write them. Just like anything that will serve its creator, anyone can choose to abuse them as well.

@freeschool To be fair we arent quite that far ahead yet. Right now we are still trying to decide how we want to rework QOTO to match the new org structure, if at all. This will turn into longer term conversations of course but right now i just want to make sure you get a voice in the discussion.

@freeschool Yes I know, and its a slow process as I had to start a new company, get it recognized as a non-profit, get money into it, get a board, and get some members. But it is starting to get momentum so we are getting there very quickly. I just wanted to check in if it still interests you because I can start bringing you into the fold at least on a preliminary basis, we would have to first make you a member, and then as we organize get you involved in the right places.

Whistleblower reveals evidence on how Elon Musk's DOGE team extracted 10 GB of sensitive data about American citizens from a government agency, and then deleted accounts and logs to cover their tracks.

Then, when the whistleblower tried to report the data breach, he received a threatening letter containing pictures taken from a drone watching him walking his dog.

@rchusid

Of course he cant. When has the law ever stopped this man? He has already illegally deported people with legal residence status in the middle of the night to avoid the courts stopping him. Why in the world would you think what is legal matters on any level anymore to this man?

@stux I would never advocate murdering someone as a matter of principle, but we entirely need and deserve a civil war at this point. Once a president starts talking about ignoring the constitution, ignoring the courts, and wanting to deport actual citizens its time to refresh that tree of liberty.

@stux

Thats why i like ya, you recognize that tree of liberty needs to be watered from time to time.
