@b6hydra

Source for iPhone is no longer up (404) but cited the iphones carbon footprint for production and lifetime use at 68 kg.Source used to be here:

glyde.com/blog/2019/08/25/why-

Carbon footprint is 1.39 per cigarette according to this source:

palebluedot.llc/carbon-copy/20

If your shell script in your project wraps around some build system, and you think that's normal, it's not.

Please don't do this.

@b6hydra 6 years of smoking cigerettes, 1 pack a day, would be equivelant in CO2 emissions to an iPhone 8's production and use over its lifetime. That doesnt account for other environmental impact of cigarettes such as the land use or the burden ont he medical system, So overall I'd say they are likely somewhat comparable in terms of impact, cigerettes may even be worse.

@samuraikid Also not only was it in the news, you literally posted a link to a mainstream news agency proving it was in the news.

I've heard about it quite a bit in the news from other agencies as well.

@samuraikid and? Two people in a picture together adds nothing of relevance. Now the story behind the picture **might** make an argument that raises suspicion if there is anything to suggest she was engaging in sex trafficking. But a picture of two people sitting next to eachother adds nothing to the conversation on its own.

@samuraikid

Note the atlantic article talks about the general frequency of sex trafficking, and seems to argue it happens but is rare among children. It cites fairly reliable studies (at least on the surface, I am still fact checking it) to that end.

The other article you posted isnt a rebuttal to this. It talks about a well known high profile case of sex trafficking we all are aware of but makes no argument even attempting to claim that it is commonplace. No one is arguing it is nonexistant, so the fact that some examples exist isnt a counter argument.

@js290

@samuraikid

Your assurances doesnt mean much, I draw my judgements from good sources of data/statistics. Likewise I would judge the article by the quality of the sources they use to make their claim.

@js290

@samuraikid

They culd be right about that, I dunno. While im sure there are cases of sex trafficking, n doubt, it may be rare enough among children that it wouldnt be accurate to call it an epidemic. Id have to read the article to judge its stance.

@js290

@js290 Ok, so that quote basically says "The vaccine will offer significant protections but will not prevent mild cases limited to the nose, but it will stop the spread from the nose to the lungs"

Cool

Anyone out there habe a watch and want to connect on Garmin Connect?

Just a reminder, you can be against government vaccine mandates and still think someone is an idiot for being antivax... just saying.

@trinsec

Of course i would, because its true and i always say things that are true :)

@trinsec
Winning sooner isnt always a better win ;) i try to make so i garuntee a win sooner even if it means more overall tries. By my second guess i had it garunteed, no luck needed ;)

@xyfdi @freemo by removing a civilians access to guns you are barely making it more difficult for someone to go to euroguns and buying some monero to get a gun, no license needed aswell. Meanwhile the civilian is a criminal for buying a gun for defense.just moving the market to tor.
