@sexybiggetje@mastodon.social Your response here shows aa triggered and emotional response. Nothing I said was disrespectful, and i dare you to show otherwise, outside of you disagreeing with my conclusion.

Yes lets agree to disagree, and leave out the "last word" nonsense last time. No one cares who speaks last. You are dutch, dont act like an american.

@underlap

What is "The most american reaction"? To yell at it and call it names and then proceed to shoot at it?

@chris

@sexybiggetje@mastodon.social Language evolved, and people get to pick whatever parts of that language they wish to adopt. There is plenty of slang out there I wont use as well. Just because its a word that is used by some people int he language doesnt mean im obligated to use it.

As I said I will and do respect peoples expression of gender. But I expect them to respect my expression of language, it goes both ways.

@sexybiggetje@mastodon.social I agree that everyone gets to express themselves as they see fit... Thats my whole point, **I** get to express myself as I see fit, that means **you** dont get to tell me how to talk to you.

What you do get to do is express yourself how you see fit and have that be honored. So if you want to express yourself as a female, then I should treat you as a female. **I** get to express myself as i wish and that includes how I address females, namely, by use of the word "she".

Respect goes both ways, I need to respect your gender, you need to respect my use of language.

@sexybiggetje@mastodon.social In fact I'd say its disrespectful for someone to demand another person use made up language when talking to someone just because it makes them happy. Yes you can identify as whatever gender you wish, and that should be respected. That doesnt mean you get to dictate the language in whatever form you wish when in reference to you though, that foes past respect for you and into disrespect for me and my right to speak proper english.

@sexybiggetje@mastodon.social I think there are limits. If I asked you to call me "Your honorable lord and light" as my pronoun I think its silly to think you have an ethical obligation to obliged me. It might even be important to me, and i might not feel the way you do about calling me your lord and light... but i dont think you have any obligation out of kindness to do that.

@kayfabeengineer I dont sonsider it sexist just to have gender specific pronouns. Its only sexist if you refuse to acknowledge someones gender IMO

@phoenix I prefer synonym rolls, like grammar used to make :)

@sexybiggetje@mastodon.social If Xhe gets into the majority of dictionaries then i might consider using it at that point. So far its not there.

@louisrcouture When a persons gender is unknown or the gender isnt relevant (like when talking about a hypothetical person) then either the gender neutral "he" or "they" are both considered correct. It is up to the speaker to decide which style they wish to use. Personally I find gender neutral he to be the better choice as it tends to sound more natural.

That said if a person wants me to use they to refer to them I am likely to oblidge, but otherwise default to the gender neutral he.

@louisrcouture I wasnt really addressing they. It is bad word choice but not improper. I was refering to Xhe and other crazy pronounds.

@trinsec

No they arent shoes for your hands, shoes are for your feet. Lets all just call hats "Head condoms" then.

@robryk

@trinsec I was thinking more along the lines of xhe and other crazy pronouns. They is just bad word choice but not improper

I will happily call you by one of these two pronouns of your choice: He or She.

I will not however use pronouns that do not and have never existed in the english language to appease anyone. I'm not against your right to identify as a different gender, I just dont recognize made up words is all.

@SecondJon

Lets not forget the best part of all... the fatal throat cancer that helps ensure you dont need to live in this cruel unforgiving world a second longer than you need to :)

@mc

@Zest probably a few ways one could approach this problem. Drying them out first could work

@SecondJon One in which you use all the clues for each guess and feel that you made the best choices each turn (for example a yellow clue you managed to place in a different spot on your next guess). In other words a game where you think you made all the optimal choices.
