It isnt practical, but its a pretty common mentality. For a short while all fediverse apps were pulled from the google store due to the moderation dynamics on the fedi, luckily it was short lived and the community fraught back mostly.

Then you havent been on the fedi long. The isolate GAB movement is a prime example. People werent just content with being on servers that moderated GAB, they demanded they only federate with servers that themselves blocked GAB, and that they do the same. Effectively dictating how other servers federated and not just the content a server itself produced.

No but destroying the fediverse and anything like it and only having monolithic entities with gatekeepers that censor all but the most acceptable of ideas does, as if such a thing were possible. But pull it from google play and the istore, pull it from google search results, censor access to the whole network.. its a dark rabbit hole

The thing about people who hate free speech (and there are a lot) is that they arent upset that they need to **hear** speech they dislike, they are upset that other people are able to hear it (or say it for that matter).

So while it may seem a reasonable solution to me or you for them to just go to a moderated instance in their eyes it isnt fixing the issue that there are unmoderated servers out there.

Tonight was a good nignt. Im about 16 shots deep and made a cool new friens. The plan is he will come over next weekend and he will brimg his ps4 and we will play elden ring and do some edibles. Looking forward to it.
