Hello world! #introduction
I am student from Czech Technical University in Prague finishing my bachelors degree in computer science, interested in politics, mostly Czech and US. Using #golang at work.
The "creepy Joe Biden" ads are starting up.. videos of women talking about how they were inappropriately touched by joe, clips of little girls and women being touched as they recoil in disgust and Joe continues to touching them anyway...
Man this guy doesnt stand a chance in hell at winning the election, the election hasnt even gotten started and this is where we are at.
Meanwhile the democrats whole defense is "well Trump joked about doing what biden does once behind closed doors"... yea might as well skip the election at this point its already over.
Part of me wishes this would mean a third-party would finally win. But we all know that wont happen, so looks like another 4 years of Trump I guess :(
Hi @Gargron quick question, not sure if something we are seeing is a bug or a feature.
One of our moderators @design_RG has muted threads in the past but the muting doesnt seem to take effect. He noticed this only seems to happen with messages from certain people and not the whole thread. He wondered if it was maybe because the users are moderators locally and as such cant be muted?
Busted out my super old and now no longer supported metawatch just for shits and giggles. I thought the mirrored back and white lcd front was hella sexy at the time. Still looks pretty sweet.
What is everyones favorite handheld calculator? I'm going through my drawer of calculators and my nostalgia is on overdrive right now.
For me I think it has to be the TI-92 because I wanted it so bad as a kid. Functionally the same as the TI-89 but just had a qwerty keyboard but since i programmed all sorts of advanced stuff into my calculators that made a huge difference.
The HP 48G would be next up on my list.
I've tried #bravebrowser in the past couple of days... well I imagined worst.
Basically is just like chromium, with the notable exceptions of having adblockers and trackers built-in, Tor in the anonymous mode and the whole crypto/BAT thing.
All are very appreciated, and if you don't care about the rewards of tokens and such it doesn't get in the way at all.
I didn't really need the ad block and stuff, as I already have extensions for that
So far is promising, I may even switch for good
@jawn Hi to a fellow Philly Native!
What a great day on Ham radio. spent 4 hours having a round table QSO on the national calling frequency of VHF with about 7 people each coming in and out throughout. Most active I've ever seen VHF simplex around here, really fun.
I also have to get a QSO in on HF just to absolutely make sure the antenna is working well. Hit up a 300 mile contact right at the end on 40 meter right at the end too. So the antenna is definitely working.
Good Ham day for sure.
Had wonderful little QSO just now with a country guy from mississippi who works on boats and just happened to be in the area and anchored. We chatted for almost an hour about all the various plants you can find in the wild and eat (which we were both kind of knowledgeable on).
We basically spent the time exchanged suggestions for plants you can find in the wild that are edible, how to cook them and whats good. Really fun, not a topic I get to share
In one month our GitLab instance will have been running for a whole year.
We just upgraded our license and activated it. We have Ultimate (usually costs 100$ per user per month) for another year, free to all our users. Enjoy!
@freemo @SecondJon What's missing from a lot of identity discussions is that there are really auto/endo-identities that are how we see ourselves, and exo-identities, how we see others. Our social identity evolves from tension between the two, and that has to be.
Say I'm great at basketball and a very poor painter. The world sees me as a basketball player who also paints, whereas I see myself as a great, misunderstood painter, and basketball is so easy to me I don't value it.
